CES 2024: LG debuts ultra-fast 480Hz OLED gaming display

-

LG Display has announced that its 27-inch 480Hz QHD Gaming OLED display will be making an appearance at CES 2024.

Set to redefine the gaming experience, LG’s latest is poised to mark the dawn of a new era for OLEDs featuring ultra-high refresh rates.

The gaming OLED display capitalizes on LG Display’s unique OLED technology, allowing each pixel to emit light independently without a backlight unit. This results in an unprecedented 480Hz refresh rate, coupled with an immersive QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution and an industry-leading response time of 0.03ms, offering avid gamers the optimal gaming experience.

LG Display’s Gaming OLEDs stand out with enhanced image quality, thanks to the cutting-edge ‘META Technology’ that incorporates a ‘Micro Lens Array (MLA)’ to maximize the emission of organic light from the OLED panel and minimize external light reflections during darker scenes.

Additionally, LG Display’s Gaming OLEDs emit the lowest level of blue light in the industry, approximately half the amount emitted by premium LCDs. This reduction not only minimizes eye fatigue but also eliminates flickers, promising more comfortable and enjoyable gaming sessions.

The highly anticipated 27-inch 480Hz QHD Gaming OLED display is scheduled for launch in the first half of the year. Concurrently, LG Display will unveil its full lineup of Gaming OLED displays at CES 2024, featuring sizes 27, 31.5, 34, 39, and 45 inches, marking the company’s entry into the high-end gaming display market.

The new additions in the 30-inch range, particularly the 34- and 39-inch Gaming OLED displays, offer an ultra-wide (21:9) aspect ratio for an immersive gaming experience. Additionally, the 31.5-inch panel supports a UHD (3840×2160) resolution, suitable not only for gaming but also for office work and content consumption.
