Toyota officially launches 2020 Wigo, price starts at PhP 568K

Through its first-ever digital launch, Toyota Motor Philippines has just introduced in the country its new entry-level hatchback — the 2020 Wigo. It flaunts an updated design and tech that promises to make the overall driving experience easier.

From the way it looks, it now has a more commanding appearance starting from its fresh front bumpers down to its rear end with LED rear combination lamps. There are a total of four Wigo models in the lineup but the top variant TRD S comes with a front spoiler, side skirt, two-tone rear spoiler, rear skirt, and TRD S badge and decals. It’s also intersting to note that the new Yellow SE color is only available in the TRD S variant.

It also stands on machine-cut alloy wheels so that’s another plus.

“The New Wigo remains an iconic car that offers the same familiar feeling of practicality and reliability, but made more advanced, more convenient, safer, and more fun with its sleek and sporty TRD Styling,” said TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto during his welcome remarks.

Its spacious interior features redesigned seats and chrome accents. An LCD air conditioner panel for TRD S and G variants are available for easier access and control.

The new Wigo is powered by the same 1-liter gasoline engine seen on its previous iteration. It outputs 65HP at 6,000rpm and up to 89Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. There are two transmission configurations to choose from — either a four-speed AT or a five-speed MT.

Other bells-and-whistles for the higher-end models include a push-start button, side mirrors with power retract and adjust, a digital air conditioner system, back-up camera, keyless entry, and a touch-enabled head unit. Additionally, the TRD variant comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay so seamlessly mirroring useful apps from your phone is possible.

As for safety, it comes with SRS airbags for the driver and front passenger, back sonar, and Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS).

Toyota has positioned the new Wigo at a very affordable price point making it a really attractive offering for those who want an up-to-date starter car. Check out the price list below:
