BYD Philippines has launched the Seal at the 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit.
The BYD Seal is powered by a dual-motor system delivering all-wheel drive (AWD) traction with a combined output of 529 PS and 670 Nm of torque. This setup propels the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, emphasizing its dynamic performance.
Equipped with an 82.6 kWh Blade Battery, the vehicle boasts an impressive range of up to 580 kilometers on a single charge. Additionally, the Seal offers fast-charging capabilities, replenishing from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes using 150 kWh DC charging technology, making it the fastest-charging model in BYD’s lineup.
With Cell-to-Body Technology, the BYD Seal integrates the Blade Battery into the vehicle’s structure to enhance chassis stiffness and handling. The car also features a balanced 50/50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity, further improving stability during high-performance driving.
For added control, the Seal introduces Intelligent Torque Adaption Control (iTAC), a system designed to optimize traction through rapid torque management, improving handling, safety, and overall responsiveness. Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) shock absorbers are also included to adjust ride comfort depending on road conditions, ensuring smooth handling on city streets and stability at higher speeds.
The Seal’s suspension system combines a double-wishbone front with a five-link rear setup for enhanced comfort and precision handling. Meanwhile, large ventilated brake discs — 344 mm at the front and 317 mm at the rear — provide reliable stopping power, even during spirited drives. The Seal’s design also prioritizes efficiency, featuring a heat pump that optimizes battery performance across a wide range of temperatures, along with a 12V Lithium Iron Phosphate battery to support critical functions.
Inside, the BYD Seal offers a luxurious driving experience with a modern, sporty cabin.
The interior features leather power-adjustable sports seats with ventilation, heating, and driver memory functions. Suede accents and a sleek black colorway give the cabin a premium touch, while a panoramic glass roof enhances the sense of space and adds natural light.
The interior is complemented by two large digital displays: a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen.
The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and offers a Dynaudio 12-speaker setup.
The Seal’s technology-rich interior extends to dual 15W wireless chargers for smartphones and over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Wireless 4G connectivity also provides access to additional apps and services.
Safety is a core focus of the BYD Seal, equipped with eight airbags and the DiPilot Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The system includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and predictive collision warning. The Seal also offers a 360-degree camera and radar system with six sensors, enabling features like front and rear cross-traffic alerts. The sedan has earned top safety ratings, including five-star certifications from Euro NCAP and ANCAP.
The BYD Seal comes in with a Php 2,548,000 price tag and is available in four colors: Arctic Blue, Atlantis Gray, Cosmos Black, and Aurora White.
