Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik have a new show

I know what it looks like, but no, this is (sadly) not a Sheldon and Amy spinoff series.

The Big Bang Theory alumni Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik who portrayed the on-screen couple as Sheldon and Amy are reuniting once again for a brand new show. Kind of.

Fox has announced that it has picked up on a new comedy sitcom, Call Me Kat, that will star Mayim Bialik. Interestingly enough, Bialik will not only be the star of the show but will also be at its helm as executive producer. She will be joined by her former Big Bang Theory co-star Jim Parsons and his husband, Todd Spiewak, who will also be part of the show as executive producers.

Call me Kat Big Bang Theory

Call Me Kat is a show that follows 39-year old Kat as she takes on the struggle of proving society, as well as her mother, that happiness doesn’t just stem from the things you own. This is because her character ends up spending the money her parents saved for her wedding to open up a cat cafe.

The show is based on the British sitcom, Miranda, created by actress Miranda Hart. Additional cast members include the likes of Leslie Jordan (Will & Grace), Swoosie Kurtz (Grace and Frankie), Kyla Pratt (The Proud Family), and Cheyenne Jackson (American Horror Story). There’s still no word if Jim Parsons will be making an appearance on the show.

Call Me Kat has been ordered a mid-season premiere date which means it’s likely to debut sometime in 2021.
