The DJI Inspire 3 is now official and comes with a slew of features that’s making it look like the ultimate cinematic drone.
This iteration not only offers a complete redesign that makes it more lightweight and sleek but also comes with cinema-ready features such as the latest full-frame Zenmuse Z9-8K Gimbal camera, new intelligent modes, the most advanced omnidirectional sensing system to date, and more.
Equipped with a high-mobility precision flight system, the Inspire 3 boasts high-precision RTK positioning technology that offers better stability and more accurate flight-route planning.
And with the integrated 3 GNSS System powered by dual-layered ceramic RTK antennas, precise movements during more challenging environments can still be achieved. The Inspire 3 is also built with internal orientation to get rid of the need of compass calibration for most scenarios.
An all-new Waypoint Pro function also enables flight-route and shot planning with two options available: Repeatable Routes and 3D Dolly.
The new Spotlight Pro feature, on the other hand, utilizes machine-learning algorithms to offer pilots single-object recognition and tracking.
With its nine visual sensors, the Inspire 3 has a powerful omnidirectional sensing system that can identify obstacles from all angles and provide assistance in avoiding them.
Obstacle detection in the horizontal, vertical, and downward directions can be engaged or disabled separately, and the obstacle alert range can be manually adjusted to fit various circumstances.
When active avoidance is disabled, pilots can still hear an audible alarm when an obstruction is close enough to activate an automatic avoidance maneuver by the aircraft and observe the distance from an obstacle on the navigation display in real-time.
The Inspire 3 comes with DJI’s newest image processing system, CineCore 3.0, which supports internal recording of up to 8K/25fps CinemaDNG video and 8K/75fps Apple ProRes RAW video.
This camera is the lightest full-frame Zenmuse X9-8K Air Gimbal Camera ever made.
Dual native ISO is supported by the X9-8K Air. It supports EI 800/4000 at full-frame 30 frames per second and below.
The X9-8K Air is compatible with an additional 18 mm F2.8 full-frame ultra-wide lens and a new telephoto lens made specifically for 8K aerial cinematography, as well as full-frame 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm lenses.
Shooting under low-light conditions is now less problematic as the Inspire 3 provides a brand-new 161° FOV super wide-angle FPV lens, a 1/1.8-inch night-vision sensor with 3 m pixel size, and up to 1080p/60fps live feed.
The Inspire 3’s innovative O3 Pro Transmission allows for a transmission range of up to 15 km with one controller and up to 12 km in dual-control mode, representing a generational jump in transmission distance, latency, and overall stability compared to its predecessor.
For the first time, the 4K/30fps live feeds are also enabled with a decreased 5km transmission range to answer the need for an ultra-HD output and live streaming At 1080p/60fps, the Inspire 3 offers ultra-low latency of 90 ms.
The DJI RC Plus, which has a 7-inch, 1,200-nit high-brightness screen, is included with the Inspire 3 and allows for operation even in bright light. It comes with programmable buttons and dials all around for easy operation.
With an external hot-swappable WB37 battery, the internal battery’s operating time can be increased to 6 hours from up to 3.3 hours.
The seamless integration of the Inspire 3 onto expert film sets is one of its main priorities.
It has Timesync Support for high-precision control on stage with a 3.5mm connection. Timecode sync substantially speeds up and simplifies the editing process when working with a lot of material from many cameras.
The Inspire 3 can be paired with the one RC Plus and High-Bright Remote Monitor whcih can ten act as a link to the DJI Pro Ecosystem. This unlcoks compatibilty with products such as the DJI 4D Hand Grips, DJI Master Wheels, and even the DJI Three-Channel Follow Focus.
By the end of June, the DJI Inspire 3 will be available for US $16,499 (approx. PhP 909,054).
