It’s been about two years since we first saw the company’s concept Charger Daytona SRT EV and even more since it announced its intention not to release gas-powered Chargers and Challengers.
But lo and behold, here comes the company’s first EV, and what a muscle EV it is — complete with a 400-volt system and 100.5KWh battery capable of pushing out 670 horsepower. It can achieve 0-60 in just 3.3 seconds with its V8 engine.
Two trims are available for the all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona — R/T and Scat Pack. “Powershot” will be standard on Charger Daytona models and can deliver an additional 40 horsepower for 15 on command.
- R/T: This trim offers a formidable 456 horsepower (496 with Power Shot) and 404 lb-ft of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in an impressive 4.7 seconds and boasts a range of up to 317 miles, making it perfect for thrilling rides without compromising on distance.
- Scat Pack: For those seeking the ultimate in performance, the Scat Pack trim delivers an astonishing 630 horsepower (670 with Power Shot) and 627 lb-ft of torque. With a lightning-fast acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, this variant is designed to leave competitors in the dust. However, due to its higher power output, the Scat Pack trim offers a slightly reduced range of up to 260 miles.
And despite being an EV, Dodge says that it will make sure to keep the iconic sounds and driving dynamics that have long defined the Charger experience.
With that 400V propulsion system, the Charger EV offers rapid DC fast charging capabilities of up to 183kW for both variants, allowing the battery to charge from 5 to 80 percent in just 52.4 minutes when connected to a 175kW fast charger.
Opting for a 350kW charger further reduces charging time to a mere 32.5 minutes.
Additionally, Dodge has announced that all new Chargers will feature Direct Connection stage kits as standard, enabling drivers to enhance power beyond factory settings.
The R/T trim offers a Stage 1 upgrade kit, providing an extra 40 horsepower for a total of 496 horsepower, while the Scat Pack variant comes with a Stage 2 kit, delivering an impressive 80 additional horsepower, resulting in a total output of 670 horsepower.
But if you’re worried that the classic muscle car is lost to electrification, fear not as Dodge has also released a gas-powered variant.
