It’s been a long time coming but Dyson finally unveils its first true smart, connected styling tool — the Dyson i.d.
The Dyson Airwrap i.d. takes the iconic Airwrap to a new level by integrating smart technology. At first glance, it retains the beloved features of the original Airwrap — like its ability to curl, wave, smooth, and dry hair without extreme heat — but now with Bluetooth connectivity.
With it, the Dyson Airwrap i.d syncs with the MyDyson app which enables users to input their hair type, length, and styling goals. The Airwrap i.d. then automatically adjusts temperature and airflow settings for optimal curling.
With i.d curl technology, the full three-step process — wrap, style, curl — is all done with a push of a button.
Users can also check the status of their filter through the app but a flashing white light on the device will also indicate the time for cleaning.
As for the styler itself, Dyson Airwrap i.d. multi-styler and dryer transforms hair without relying solely on heat, instead using air to reshape hair bonds and create volume, reducing the risk of heat damage — like the original Airwrap.
With its Intelligent Heat Control, the device continuously monitors and regulates the temperature, keeping it below 150°C to protect hair and maintain shine across all hair types. Powered by Dyson’s V9 digital motor, developed by an in-house team of experts, the Airwrap i.d. delivers impressive styling performance without extreme heat.
With the intro of the i.d come three new attachments as well — the Conical Barrel, Wave + Curl Diffuser, and Blade Concentrator.
The Conical Barrel is great for achieving more defined curls that reach close to the root of the hair. Being a multi-directional barrel, you can also shape clockwise or counterclockwise with ease.
For wavy/curly hair, the new diffuser offers a more gentle swirl to further enhance and define the natural shape of your hair. And finally, the new Blade Concentrator has been redesigned to deliver an even smoother finish.
Unfortunately, no news yet on its release or price both in the US and in the Philippines. But the Dyson AirWrap i.d. will be available in two colourways: Ceramic Patina and Topaz/Vinca Blue and Topaz and in two sets — AirWrap i.d. Straight + Wavy set or the AirWrap i.d. Curly + Coily set, each featuring the Dyson AirWrap i.d. and six attachments.
