Dyson today unveils the Supersonic Nural hair dryer — the company’s most intelligent hair dryer to date.
Still with hair health in mind, Dyson’s latest addition to its portfolio comes equipped with all-new Nural sensors that can identify the hair dryer’s distance from your head and intelligently adjust heat to prevent damage.
The Nural sensors integrated into the Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer offer several advantages:
- Scalp protect mode: In this mode, heat is automatically reduced to 55°C, the optimum temperature for scalp comfort and drying speed, as the hair dryer gets closer to the hair and scalp. A time-of-flight sensor enables this, by projecting an invisible infrared beam to measure the distance between the machine and your hair.
- Capsule illumination: When in Scalp protect mode, this feature ensures that the LED light color will automatically change between yellow (low heat), orange (medium heat), and red (high heat), depending on the distance the machine is from the head.
- Attachment learning: This simplifies styling routines as it adapts to a user’s go-to styling mode, remembering their last-used heat settings for each styling attachment, and automatically applying them the next time it is in use.
- Pause detect: The Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer also has a motion-sensing accelerometer that automatically deactivates the heater, decreasing airflow and noise, when you are in between styling passes
The Dyson Supersonic Nural will be offered in Ceramic Patina and Topaz and Vinca Blue and Topaz colorways. No official release dates have been announced but you can already sign up to get notified when it does.
