Epson PHs aims to empower growth, innovation, and sustainability in local businesses

Epson, a global technology leader renowned for its innovative and sustainable solutions, recently hosted its annual media event, Fusion, where it shared important market updates, and business strategies, and unveiled a new lineup of products. The company also disclosed its plans to bolster its sustainability efforts in the country.

Masako Kusama, the President of Epson Philippines, reiterated the company’s commitment to creating groundbreaking innovations that positively impact not only workplaces but also global significance. During the event, she highlighted various green initiatives such as the Food Shed project and the Mangrove Restoration Project in collaboration with WWF-Philippines, as well as the #MakeTheSwitch campaign aimed at promoting energy conservation.

As Epson Philippines celebrates its 25th anniversary in the country, it is gearing up for meaningful collaborations with private organizations and government agencies, focusing on corporate social responsibility and environmental initiatives within communities. A major aspect of its vision involves moving towards a circular economy.

Eduardo Bonoan, the Marketing Division Head of Epson Philippines, shared the company’s impressive growth and performance in the previous fiscal year, with an 8% year-over-year growth in 2022. Epson aims to boost its growth rate to 12% in 2023 by concentrating on B2B transformation and optimizing digital operations.

“Epson is aiming even higher for 2023. The company is focused on driving B2B transformation by leveraging on digital and streamlining operations,” said Bonoan.

Renan Lacson, Senior Manager for Product Management, showcased Epson’s market dominance across various product categories. The product lineup for 2023 features a mix of B2B and B2C products, all emphasizing sustainability while maintaining high-quality and performance standards. This effort can be seen in products such as large format printers and new dye sublimation printers as seen in the new SureColor R-Series; business inkjet printers; and home and office smart projectors that boast of high image quality.

The central theme that unites all of Epson’s initiatives is a strong focus on sustainability, deeply integrated into the design of its products and packaging. The company further reinforces this commitment through various actions it undertakes.

Noelle Gonzalez, Senior Manager of the Vertical Business Department, concluded the event by highlighting Epson’s dedication to driving sustainable operations in the Philippines. The company has aligned its efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is actively promoting sustainable products and practices. Additionally, Epson is taking measures to reduce waste and has established partnerships with recyclers and NGOs focused on plastic and packaging recycling.

Driven by its global aspirations, Epson is dedicated to contributing to a better future aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the Philippines, the company has taken significant steps to adopt sustainability, focusing on three key actions to address its priority SDGs.

Firstly, under the theme of Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, Epson is actively promoting sustainable products, services, and practices. Secondly, in line with Responsible Consumption and Production, Epson is taking measures to reduce waste from its own products in the Philippine market. This includes active participation in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Extended Producers Responsibility Act, as well as forming partnerships with recyclers and non-governmental organizations dedicated to reducing plastic and packaging waste.

Lastly, Epson is making strides in Partnership for the Goals by expanding its network of collaborations and investing in more partnerships. The aim is to propagate sustainability initiatives to a broader audience and establish itself as a leading voice in sustainable practices within the tech industry.
