Realme Philippines has just introduced its new gaming phone targetted towards budget-conscious individuals looking to get their hands on an affordable gaming smartphone. The realme 6i is packed with a 5000mAh battery and is the first phone to utilize MediaTek’s Helio G80 processor which is a new gaming-focused SoC.
Let’s begin the unboxing.
The box comes in standard realme packaging — a solid matte yellow color. Opening the box first reveals a small bundle consisting of the included jelly case for the phone and a quick start guide along with other general information.
Dig deeper and we are introduced to the realme 6i itself still wrapped in plastic. Right under it, we have the USB-C cable plus the charging brick. There are no earphones here but the company is generous enough to at least throw in a free smartphone case.
Now let’s head over to the phone.
The back panel is made purely of plastic with a matte finish but has that special reflective shine that reacts differently depending on how the light hits it.
Housing a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display, it has a resolution of 1600 x 720 with a waterdrop notch which we’ve seen on previous realme phones. On the right, we have a solo button for both lock and power while the volume buttons sit on the left side of the phone.

Round the back, we see the four cameras which slightly protrude off the surface and, just to the right of it, is the fingerprint scanner.
The realme 6i’s quad-camera system consists of a 48-megapixel main sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro, and another 2-megapixel sensor for portrait photography. Situated in the display’s notch is a 16-megapixel front camera.
Its SIM tray can house two SIM cards plus an additional microSD card to add to its storage.
Down below, we pleasantly find a USB Type-C port for charging, 3.5mm audio jack on the left, and speakers on the right. The realme 6i comes in two colors: White Milk and Green Tea.
Internally, the realme 6i houses a MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core CPU paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The dedicated MicroSD slot allows for storage expansion up to 256GB.
It’s equipped with a large 5000mAh capacity battery that also supports reverse charging. It comes bundled with an 18-watt USB-C for fast charging.
Lastly, the realme 6i carries the realme UI for its OS which is based on Android 10. Currently, the company hasn’t released its local pricing but is expected to be unveiled on May 13. Based on its price points in other countries, this phone should cost you just around PhP 10K or even less.
We’ll be reviewing the 6i in the next couple of days. Once it’s made official in the Philippines on the 13th, be sure to head back here for the full review.
