FUJIFILM Philippines announces its community support initiative, providing cameras to public schools in Borongan City. This donation highlights FUJIFILM’s ongoing commitment to enhancing local education and empowering students through the art of photography.
In response to a recognized need for visual documentation tools in local educational programs, FUJIFILM Philippines has gifted one FUJIFILM camera to each of the following institutions:
- Benowangan National High School (Barangay Benowangan, Borongan City)
- Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School (Barangay Alang-alang, Borongan City)
- Sta. Fe National High School (Barangay Sta. Fe, Borongan City)
The donated cameras will support these schools in advancing their educational programs, activities, and projects by enhancing their ability to document and share their stories. Marilen Catanghal, Imaging Solutions Manager at FUJIFILM Philippines, addressed the students of Benowangan National High School, saying:
“Gusto po naming kayong i-encourage na gamitin itong camera na ito not only to take photos of your community, but to make use of this to tell your story. And to share that story to the world.” (“We want to encourage you to use this camera not only to take photos of your community but also to use it to tell your story. And to share that story with the world.”)
Rupert Ambil, City Information Officer of Borongan City, spoke to the faculty of Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School, stating:
“We provide opportunities; so we create opportunities for the people. So binibigyan natin ng opportunity yung mga partners natin from the private sector to provide that to our school system gaya ng itong donation na ito. Kasi hindi naman tayo nagkukulang sa galing, kailangan lang natin mapantayan kung anong mayroong gamit ang malalaking eskwelahan sa Metro Manila.” (“We provide opportunities; so we create opportunities for the people. We give our partners from the private sector the chance to contribute to our school system, like this donation. Because we do not lack talent, we just need to match the equipment that larger schools in Metro Manila have.”)
