The ten-episode HBO Original drama House of the Dragon debuts same time as the U.S. on Monday, August 22 on HBO GO.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, House of Dragon tells the story of House Targaryen.
House of the Dragon stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans.
Additional cast members include Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn.
As to which characters we’ll be seeing in the series, many members of the Targaryen and Hightower houses will be making an appearance including King Viserys ( Paddy Considine) along with his daughter, Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy). We can also expect the king’s younger brother, Prince Daemon (Matt Smith), and dragonrider Princess Rhaenys Targaryen
As for the Hightowers, we’ll be seeing Hand of the King and loyal servant Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) and his daughter Alicent (Olivia Cooke).
Additional characters confirmed to appear include famed nautical adventurer and Princess Rhaenys’ husband, Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint), steward to the Lord of Blackhaven, Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel), and Mysaria — one of Prince Daemon’s most trusted allies.
George R.R. Martin will still take the seat of Executive Produce and Co-creator on the show alongside Ryan Condal.
