HONOR Philippines sets new Guinness World Record with 264-person drop test

-

HONOR Philippines just made history! On January 6, 2024, the company broke a Guinness World Record for “The Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Drop Test Simultaneously.” A total of 264 participants gathered to drop the new HONOR X9c 5G all at the same time, with every single device surviving the drop.

The event showcased just how durable the HONOR X9c 5G really is and showcased its all-angle triple defense system that gives it an SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance Rating. This means it can handle drops from heights of up to two meters without breaking.

Part of its “toughest phone” moniker means it’s also water-resistant with an IP65M rating and can survive being submerged in 25cm of water for up to five minutes. But most interesting is the ability to handle extreme temperatures, from freezing -40°C to scorching 70°C. While smartphones that can survive temperatures aren’t entirely new, it’s more uncommon and is often associated with phones designed for fieldwork.

Stephen Cheng, HONOR Philippines’ Vice President, said the record was a proud moment for the brand. “This is a win not just for HONOR but for all Filipinos who have supported us from the start. And we’re not done yet. There’s more exciting news coming at the official launch on January 10,” Cheng said.
