It wasn’t a long reign for the HONOR Magic6 Pro as Huawei, once again, takes the top spot on DxOMark smartphone camera rankings with its latest release — the Pura 70 Ultra.
The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra ranks 1st both in DxOMark’s Global Ranking and in the Ultra-Premium Ranking categories beating out big players like the iPhone 15 Pro Max, OPPO Find X7 Ultra, and Google Pixel 8 Pro.
Much like its predecessor, the Huawei P60 Pro, the Pura 70 Ultra showcases its prowess in photography. Garnering a total of 163 points overall, DxOMark also highlights its superior scores for photo, bokeh, zoom, and low-light performance.
About the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra
The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is the top-spec variant from the recently announced Pura line.
Apart from its remarkable imaging prowess, the Pura 70 Ultra introduces the industry’s first ultra-lighting pop-out camera, an original retractable camera structure, which achieves a thin 1-inch sensor size and a large aperture in a compact body at the same time.
It boasts a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel Ultra Lighting Pop-out camera, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel Ultra-Lighting Macro Telephoto camera.
Aside from the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, the Huawei Pura 70 and the Huawei Pura 70 Pro are also equipped with a new generation of Ultra Lighting XMAGE Camera Imaging System.
The powerful hardware of the main camera and telephoto camera of the Ultra Lighting imaging system, combined with the industry’s first Huawei XD Motion Engine, the Huawei Pura 70 Series achieves a breakthrough with the Ultra Speed Snapshot.
When shooting high-speed objects in motion, it uses a real-time sensor dual exposure: The short exposure records the details of the moving moment, and the long exposure retains rich background information.
Through AI Motion Vector Computing, the images captured by the long and short exposures are matched by their features through Regional Motion Restore, and finally generates a crisp photo with high-definition qualities.
The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra also goes beyond the standard offering up to 200x zoom.
Coupled with the device’s 10-channel multi-spectrum sensor (a feature it shares with the base Pura 70 and Pura 70 Pro), it delivers professional-grade results even in the most challenging shooting scenarios.
Huawei Pura 70 Pro and Huawei Pura 70 Ultra both support Ultra Lighting Super Macro, which supports a 5cm minimum focus distance of telephoto shooting and 35X macro zoom.
Last but not least, the Huawei Pura 70 Series has comprehensively upgraded the portrait photography function, intelligently perceiving light, shadow, blur, and skin tones. It restores and captures realistic elements, bringing excellent portrait effects.
The portrait blur also has definite layers, which can vividly highlight the subject of the character while retaining fine details such as fine lines of hair and facial details. On a brightly lit night, the Huawei Pura 70 Series creates bokeh with its background blur, retaining clear dark details while maintaining highlights without overexposure.
