The vehicle is based on Hyundai’s award-winning E-GMP platform, which provides a solid foundation for creating high-performance electric vehicles.

The IONIQ 5 N is built to satisfy three performance pillars — Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and the Everyday Sportscar. This is evidenced by its dual motor all-wheel drive with rally-inspired handling, reinforced body structure, enhanced steering response and advanced control systems. All of which contribute to an exhilarating drive experience.
The company’s newest electric vehicle incorporates several performance-enhancing technologies. The N Pedal, for one, provides instant turn-in behavior and enhanced throttle sensitivity, while the N Drift Optimizer and N Torque Distribution enable precise control of the drift angle and torque distribution. With improved power electronic systems, battery cooling, and regenerative braking, the vehicle’s racetrack capabilities are greatly enhanced.

The N e-shift simulates the feeling of gearshifts in internal combustion engine (ICE) cars, providing a more interactive driving experience while the N Active Sound+ system creates a more engaging and exciting sound experience. The IONIQ 5 N is even capable of simulating engine and exhaust sounds which is often missed by drivers when aboard an EV.
On the design side, the IONIQ 5 N features performance-enhancing elements, such as a wing-type rear spoiler, black trim parts, and an aggressive front fascia with air curtains and flaps for extra cooling. The interior showcases N-branded elements, including a specially designed N steering wheel, N seats with reinforced bolsters, and N pedals optimized for track driving scenarios.
