The Hyundai IONIQ 6 bags three awards at this year’s World Car Awards — World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year.
Awarded by an international jury composed of automotive professionals from around the world, this becomes the company’s second straight triple honors at the World Car Awards with the predecessor IONIQ 5 being the last winner in the same categories.
The IONIQ 6 is only the second entry in the company’s all-electric lineup. It fully utilizes the E-GMP architecture to provide 800-V, ultra-fast charging capabilities for a 10 to 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes.
One of the most aerodynamic and energy-efficient EVs on the market, the IONIQ 6 has an extremely low drag coefficient of just 0.21. The WLTP-rated range of the Electrified Streamliner on a single charge is 614 km 2. With 18-inch tires, the basic 2WD model obtains WLTP-rated energy consumption of 13.9 kWh/100 km.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, driver assistance systems, and enhanced connection with over-the-air (OTA) software updates are just a few of the numerous elements that make up the IONIQ 6 and help provide the best in-car experience, sustainably.
The roomy and ergonomic cabin makes the most of the 2,950 mm wheelbase to offer a variety of empowering features, including as Electric Active Sound Design (e-ASD), Dual Color Ambient Lighting, Speed Sync Lighting, and EV Performance Tune-up, to improve the electric mobility experience.
