inDrive further commits to fair fares and driver earnings

-

Since its local relaunch in June 2024, ride-sharing app inDrive has seen impressive growth —  75% increase in rides, an 86% rise in active users, and a 96% rise in drivers.

Undeniably, inDrive is still working to challenge the dominance of Grab who has long held the market as a solo key player.  inDrive, however, wants to change its approach,  emphasizing fairness for drivers and passengers.

At the heart of inDrive’s mission is its commitment to giving drivers fair wages. It addresses the ongoing issue in the ride-sharing world by offering a low 10% commission rate. According to the company, this commission structure helps create a healthier market for drivers.

Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!

inDrive’s recent campaign, “Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!” in partnership with the transport group Laban TNVS, further highlights this commitment by promoting fair fares for passengers as well as fair earnings for drivers.

Makarenko explained that inDrive’s low commission rate s what “equitable business” looks like, ensuring competitive fares without compromising drivers’ earnings.

During the event, inDrive’s APAC Marketing Director Natalia Makarenko was asked if the 10% commission rate was sustainable for around 3-5 years.

Confidently, she explained that the rate is manageable and that inDrive remains dedicated to ensuring fair wages for its drivers. She reiterated that the company prioritizes its drivers’ well-being, aiming to maintain this fair commission rate for as long as possible.

Beyond its focus on drivers and passengers, inDrive has committed to grassroots efforts through a collaboration with Laban TNVS. inDrive has launched community-based initiatives, such as flood assistance programs and feeding drives, particularly in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Carina.

As inDrive continues its expansion in the Philippines, Makarenko highlighted plans to grow its presence in key cities like Cebu, Davao, and Pampanga. The company is also working to enhance its services, aiming to provide even more benefits to drivers and passengers alike.

inDrive is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
