inDrive ride-hailing app to launch in PH

A new ride-hailing app is set to launch in the Philippines.

inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform, has received official accreditation from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) as a Transport Network Company (TNC) in the Philippines, allowing it to officially offer ride-hailing services in the country. With the accreditation, inDrive now becomes a potential alternative to Grab.

It already has an established presence in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, and globally operates in over 700 cities and 45 countries. In the Philippines, inDrive will initially be available in five cities: Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan.

Unlike typical ride-hailing apps, inDrive offers users more choice and control.

Passengers can select their preferred driver based on factors such as driver rating, vehicle model, and estimated time of arrival. Similarly, drivers can choose the most suitable rides, receiving detailed ride requests, including fare, pick-up point, and destination.

Safety is a top priority for inDrive, demonstrated through features such as real-time sharing of GPS location and ride details, a dedicated emergency button connecting users directly with law enforcement, a chat function for private communication between passengers and drivers, 24/7 support via in-app chat and email, and a stringent driver registration process. inDrive has also introduced a Safety Pact, emphasizing shared responsibility for ensuring the safety of every ride.

The company is focusing on bolstering its driver supply through recruitment initiatives before the official launch. As part of a promotional campaign, drivers who register with inDrive by December 31 will receive a fuel voucher worth USD 10. At launch, drivers can use the app without paying service fees for accepted rides.
