Jeep teases first global BEV release, Wagoneer S

After years of anticipation, Jeep is stepping into the future with the upcoming launch of its first-ever battery-electric vehicle (BEV) in the US — the Jeep Wagoneer S.

The upcoming SUV will be offered exclusively as an EV and promises to blend iconic Jeep heritage with cutting-edge electric performance. It has a planned release in the US this fall (2024) before heading to other key markets around the world.

Jeep Wagoneer S

The Jeep Wagoneer S boasts a substantial 600-horsepower engine, positioning it as the most powerful model in the Wagoneer lineup. It comes with an all-wheel-drive as standard (4xe). Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 3.5 seconds, it stands out in terms of speed within the SUV category.

One intriguing aspect is the emphasis on off-road performance. Electric all-wheel-drive platforms, such as the one in the Wagoneer S, unlock new possibilities for off-roading. Jeep’s reputation for rugged off-road capabilities raises anticipation for how the Wagoneer S will perform in diverse terrains.

While the final design remains undisclosed, a teaser image suggests a mid-size SUV with a sleek and aerodynamically efficient exterior. The iconic seven-bar front grille, illuminated in blue, emphasizes the vehicle’s electric nature.

Specific pricing details are yet to be disclosed, but it’s expected to be in line with the standard Wagoneer, starting at US$ 62,945. The target release date is set for the fall of 2024, potentially becoming a highlight in Jeep’s 2025 lineup.
