Maxus Philippines has just launched in the country the T60 pickup truck. Fronting its British heritage proudly together with the automotive expertise of SAIC Motor, the T60 comes in three variants in both 4×2 and 4×4 models.
Classified as a midsize pickup, it boasts that it’s currently the longest and widest in its class. This simply means there’s more room when you’re transporting cargo or even passengers.
The front fascia is dominated by a large grille with vertical bars playing as background for its logo in the middle. A pair of LED headlamps with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) then flank the 4×4 Elite variant and look rather prominent themselves.
According to the company, the T60 is aimed to address the transportation of people, cargo, or a combination of both in any road condition. Through the T60, Maxus is offering a pickup truck with useful features at an entry-level price.
Under the hood, the T60 is powered by a 2.8-liter diesel engine with Variable Geometry Turbocharger and Drive Mode Select which is then mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. It outputs 150PS of power at 3400rpm with a torque of 360Nm at 1600-2800rpm. As you have seen, it’s powerful enough to pull a tractor.
Standard features of the T60 include an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink, rear camera and rear sensors, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, rear air conditioning vents, plus a wading depth of 800mm.
The top of the line 4×4 Elite, however, comes with LED headlamps with DRLs, Electronic Stabilization Program, power driver seat adjustments, push-start ignition, a larger 10-inch monitor for the infotainment system, and automatic air conditioning.
As for safety, the T60 is equipped with tire pressure monitoring system, front airbags, ISOFIX seats, and an immobilizer.
The company says that the T60 is one of the few models in the pick-up segment with a 5 year warranty (or 100,000 kms, whichever comes first). Moreover, the aftersales services are set to the “maximum” with a periodic maintenance service (PMS) interval schedule of the first 5,000 kms and every succeeding 15,000 kms or once a year, whichever comes first.
According to the company, this is more convenient and more cost-efficient compared to the industry-standard 5,000-km PMS interval. Maxus Philippines also offers a 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, a pick-up and delivery service for customers, and on-site servicing for corporate fleet accounts.
Pricing for the Maxus T60 are as follows:
- 4×2 Pro MT – PhP 948,000
