Mojawa Run Plus Bone Conduction Headphones review

-

Listening to music while working out, exercising, or engaging in other activities definitely has its benefits in terms of being able to concentrate and finding rhythm better. But not everyone feels comfortable enough wearing earbuds or headphones, especially during long training sessions.

Plus, for individuals like me who ride a bicycle, it is unsafe to be wearing audio devices that put you at risk of not being aware of your surroundings.

These are some of the reasons why bone-conduction headphones were made. They basically just hang over your ears and through the device sending vibrations, you’re able to play and listen to music without even having your ears covered.

The Mojawa Run Plus bone conduction headphones promise an exceptional audio experience, prioritizing both safety and comfort. These headphones have been thoughtfully designed for various activities including sports, work, and everyday use.

Mojawa Run Plus – Features

One of the standout features and most likely the main reason you’re considering this device is its open-ear comfort and safety design. This innovation ensures a pain-free audio experience, as there are no buds or ear tips that need to be inserted into the ear canal.

Instead, the bone conduction technology allows sound to be delivered through vibrations to the inner ear, providing a comfortable fit. Moreover, this design guarantees complete awareness of the user’s surroundings, making it an excellent choice for those who need to remain aware while enjoying their music or audio content.

The Mojawa Run Plus comes with two convenient listening modes: MP3 Mode and Bluetooth Mode. In MP3 Mode, the headphones are equipped with a built-in MP3 player and come with a generous 32GB memory card that can store up to 8,000 songs or audiobooks. This eliminates the need to carry a phone for audio playback, making it a great option for users who prefer a phone-free listening experience.

Alternatively, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity allows seamless pairing with compatible devices, providing the flexibility to stream audio wirelessly.

Another notable feature is the IP68 waterproof rating, which ensures the headphones can withstand being submerged up to two meters underwater for up to two hours. This makes the Mojawa Run Plus a perfect companion for swimmers who want to enjoy their favorite tunes while swimming.

It could even pair with two devices at once so you wouldn’t have to unpair and pair again in case you wanted to switch devices.

As for its physical package, there’s the usual user manual, charging cable, a carrying pouch, and a pair of tips to cover your ear canals and hear the music better when just doing indoor activities

Mojawa Run Plus – Sound quality and performance

The audio quality of the Mojawa Run Plus is actually impressive, this is a product from the company’s collaboration with five Grammy-winning audio producers who have fine-tuned and endorsed the headphones.

Music is detailed, elements are easily separated, and even bass can be felt. This is thanks to the inclusion of patented Original Physical Bass Strengthen Technology and Dual Suspension Anchor System. This combination of expertise and advanced technologies proved true and ensures users will enjoy a premium listening experience.

This is the case when you’re in a fairly quiet place. But when I ride my bike through traffic with sounds from vehicles coming from every direction, they can drown out my music. I guess this is fine since the priority, especially when you ride on a busy street, is your safety. I just personally wish I could hear my music louder.

In terms of operation, there’s an oval-shaped silver button on the left side that functions as power, play and pause music, skip and return to the previous track, and for answering calls depending on how many times you click it. It’s a convenient and non-confusing way of operation that lets you focus more on what activity you’re doing.

Additionally, controlling volume is done via swipe gestures on the glossy black part with Mojawa branding on it — a swipe up cranks the volume up, while a swipe down lowers it.

Mojawa Run Plus – Battery life

According to the company, the battery life of the Mojawa Run Plus offers up to 8 hours of continuous music and podcast playback at 75% volume. But I never used it that long in one session so it took me around five days of everyday use when I ride my bike which I think is not bad at all.

In terms of charging, a quick charge yields significant results. Once the battery was exhausted, I charged it for just 15 minutes and was able to use it for around three days of 30-minute rides before needing to charge it again. This long playtime is perfect for extended training sessions, workouts, or daily commutes without the need for frequent recharging.

Mojawa Run Plus – Final thoughts

The Mojawa Run Plus bone conduction headphones offer a decent package with their open-ear safety and comfort design, versatile listening modes, IP68 waterproof rating, extended battery life, and above-average audio quality. Whether you are a sports enthusiast, a swimmer, or someone who appreciates high-quality audio, the Mojawa Run Plus is a compelling option to consider.

You can get it from Mojawa’s official page with a price tag of US$ 129.90 (approx. PhP 7,000).
