With the coronavirus pandemic halting live basketball season, the National Basketball Association or NBA is reportedly planning a players-only NBA 2K League starting this coming Friday on ESPN.
Chris Haynes, a sports reporter from Yahoo, cites a couple of league sources indicating that a 10-day tournament is set to happen with 16 players to participate. Basketball superstars such as Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, and Andre Drummond are some of the big names expected to play.

NBA’s official esports league was also postponed for its players due to the outbreak. This is why the league itself has been “forced to evaluate the safest way to bring basketball fans some action,” according to Haynes.

He further adds that with this players-only tournament, those who have been missing the game could get some sort of distraction and entertainment as they stay at their own homes.
