Featuring the unique Social Strand System which allows players to stay connected with other players from around the globe, Death Stranding Director’s Cut will enable players to experience Death Stranding, the genre-defying open-world action-adventure game starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner, fully remastered and expanded for PS5 consoles.

Tomorrow is in your hands

In the future, a mysterious event known as the death stranding has opened a doorway between the living and the dead, leading to creatures from the afterlife roaming the fallen world marred by a desolate society.

As Sam Bridges, your mission is to deliver hope to humanity by connecting the last survivors of a decimated America.

Can you reunite the shattered world, one step at a time?

New Delivery Order! Enhanced and expanded content

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is packed with a ton of new content and enhanced gameplay features.

The new version introduces more weapons, equipment, and vehicles, a variety of new modes, missions, and areas to explore, expanded storylines, and enhancements to the UI.

There will also be new online features including Friend Play and Leaderboards, more news on that coming soon!

In a recent blog post, Sony explains that all of the new content is developed “from the ground up”. This includes the Firing Range area, a bunch of new missions, and an all-new Fragile Circuit racing mode. The company also made it clear that the new content wasn’t lazily attached to the original cut.

The Director’s Cut made sure to weave the additional content into the existing world carefully so that players won’t feel a difference. According to Sony, the new content will be easy to find but there will be more challenging secrets to find as well.

Additionally, it’s now confirmed that all the content from Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077 that’s available on the PC version will also be available in the Director’s Cut.

But of course, the Director’s Cut will be getting its share of upgraded features that will utilize the hardware of the PlayStation 5. Environmental effects can now trigger haptic feedback from the DualSense controllers and there will be adaptive trigger resistance as well. 3D audio is now supported and the SSD makes for near-instant loading times.

Additionally, PS4 saves will be transferable so players can jump right back after upgrading.

The Director’s Cut also unlocks two picture modes – Performance Mode and Fidelity Mode. Performance mode offers upscaled 4K and up to 60FPS while Fidelity offers native 4K. Both offer ultra-wide and HDR.
