Honda Accord, City win big awards at ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards 2020

Honda Accord and Honda City received four distinguished safetyrelated awards at the ASEAN NCAP (ASEAN New Car Assessment Program) Grand Prix Awards 2020. The Honda Accord won three awards from the Best Safety Performance while The Honda City received the ASEAN NCAP Excellent Award Consistent 5 Star”.

This achievement emphasizes Hondas strong commitment to safety and its vision to realize a collisionfree mobile society.

The 10th generation Honda Accord, which has been awarded a 5Star ASEAN NCAP safety rating, received three awards from Best Safety Performance category inAdult Occupant Protection” (AOP),Child Occupant Protection” (COP) and, Overall” (the highest score of the overall assessment).

The model made its ASEAN debut in Thailand in March 2019 and has since expanded sales to six other countries. It has received several prestigious awards in ASEAN countries such as:

  • Thailand: “Best Mid-Size Sedan under 2,000 c.c.”, Car of the Year 2019
  • Malaysia: “Executive Sedan of The Year”, Carlist.my People’s Choice Awards 2019
  • Philippines: “Best in Safety Features-Midsize Sedan”, Auto Focus People’s and Media’s Choice Awards 2020

Locally, the 10th generation Honda Accord made its debut in the Philippine market last September 2019. On top of all the safety features it presents, the 10th generation Honda Accord now comes with Honda SENSING to prevent and effectively respond to dangerous driving situations.

The 5th generation Honda City, the latest Honda model to achieve five-star safety rating, won the “ASEAN NCAP Excellent Award – Consistent 5 Star” for its excellence and continuous 5-star safety rating of its 3rd, 4th and 5th generation.

Following the world premiere of the all-new Honda City in Thailand in November 2019, it was also introduced in Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam respectively. The model recorded over 45,000 units sold within 1 year after the launch, representing the best-selling Honda model in ASEAN.

The All-New City was introduced last October 22, 2020 through HCPI’s first-ever digital launch in the country during Honda’s 30th anniversary here in the Philippines. For the first time in the Philippine market, the All-New Honda City is available in a 1.5 RS CVT variant, which provides a sportier and more premium look.
