Huawei’s sister company, HONOR is resurrecting its old Play series with the new HONOR Play 4T.
The latest model of the Play series was last seen in 2018, but today Huawei posted a promotional photo on its Weibo account teasing the new HONOR Play 4T. Alongside it was an invite to its official online launch on April 9.
The official announcement ended there, however, a well-known Chinese tipster account, Digital chat station, leaked a couple of specs regarding the upcoming HONOR Play 4T.
According to their post on Weibo, the HONOR Play 4T will have a 6.3-inch FullHD OLED water-drop screen and will allegedly be powered by the Kirin 810 processor. It will also possibly carry a triple rear camera system consisting of a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel secondary and 2-megapixel camera, possibly a depth sensor for bokeh.
The front camera, on the other hand, will have a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Additionally, they report that the HONOR Play 4T will house a 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology.
Of course, do take these with a grain of salt since they didn’t come directly from HONOR. We’ll have to wait for the official online launch on April 9 to find out about the final specs. But if we’re to go with these, it sounds like it will be a competitive handset with some premium features to be expected.
HONOR, being a sub-brand of Huawei, caters more to the youth and its lifestyle. With the upcoming launch, we can expect that the Play 4T will not only be generally dynamic and playful in some of its key features, it would also be affordable than Huawei’s flagship offerings.
