Nissan Kicks with e-POWER confirmed for August launch in PH

-

It’s official — the Nissan Kicks carrying the company’s very interesting e-POWER technology will be available in the Philippines this August.

We were invited to an exclusive out-of-town event by Nissan Philippines to get a better understanding of what e-POWER is and at the same time, experience the technology firsthand at Clark International Speedway.

But before we share our entire experience on the track (video going live in a bit), let’s get the important details out first. As mentioned, the Nissan Kicks is officially arriving next month and we have seen three variants so far.

Specifications for the three models still aren’t final but what we do know is the electric motor that solely powers the wheels is the same as the Nissan LEAF and comes with a 2.06kWh Lithium-ion battery.

Nissan says this configuration produces 136PS of power and 280Nm of torque and the company is proud of those numbers when compared to similar hybrid EVs. It further adds that e-POWER inside the Kicks has a response time quicker than a 2.0-liter turbo engine.

And since e-POWER uses an internal combustion engine only to charge the battery, fuel efficiency is also something that can benefit its users as Nissan claims a 22-25km/L performance.

Official pricing is still kept under wraps but it’s supposed to be a lot more affordable than a full EV like the Nissan LEAF. We’ll know once it makes its official launch next month.

There’s so much to talk about this technology from how it performs on the road, its e-Pedal that tweaks how you drive and makes things easier, and a lot more. Stay tuned for our full video but for now, here are more photos of the Nissan Kicks.
