POCO F7 Series similarities and differences

The POCO F7 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform, making it one of the most powerful Android phones in the market today.

Built on a 3nm process, it offers 45% better CPU performance and 44% improved GPU performance compared to its predecessor while also reducing power consumption. To enhance visuals further, POCO integrates a VisionBoost D7 chipset, exclusive to the Ultra model, which optimizes display performance with Smart Frame Drop, 2K Super Resolution, and GameHDR. Dual-core Visuals technology also enhances video resolution and HDR quality across platforms like YouTube and Netflix.

The POCO F7 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, last year’s flagship processor.

While still a high-end performer, it lags slightly behind the 8 Elite in raw performance. Both devices run Xiaomi HyperOS 2, which integrates HyperCore, HyperConnect, and HyperAI for improved performance and connectivity.

They also feature LiquidCool Technology 4.0, incorporating a 3D dual-channel IceLoop system to keep temperatures low during intensive gaming and multitasking.

The Ultra and Pro models take different approaches to battery capacity and charging speeds. The POCO F7 Ultra has a 5,300mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging, while the POCO F7 Pro comes with a 6,000mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge but lacks wireless charging. While the Ultra model has faster wired and wireless charging, the Pro makes up for it with a larger battery capacity.

Both devices feature 6.67-inch 2K Flow AMOLED displays with 3200 nits peak brightness and 1800 nits HBM brightness, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight.

The displays are certified for eye care, reducing strain during prolonged use. In terms of durability, both phones are IP68-rated for dust and water resistance. However, they use different protective glass materials. The POCO F7 Ultra features POCO Shield Glass, while the POCO F7 Pro uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The Ultra’s build quality is slightly superior, featuring a gloss-matte glass back that gives it a more premium feel.

The POCO F7 Ultra boasts a triple-camera system, including a floating telephoto lens and improved HDR processing. It features a 50MP f/1.6 Light Fusion 800 main camera (1/1.55” sensor, OIS, 6P lens), a 50MP f/2.0 floating telephoto camera (OIS, 2.5x–5x in-sensor zoom), a 32MP ultra-wide camera (120° FOV), and a 32MP front camera. In contrast, the POCO F7 Pro has a simpler dual-camera system, consisting of a 50MP f/1.6 Light Fusion 800 main camera (OIS, 1/1.55” sensor), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 20MP front camera. Both models leverage POCO AISP, the brand’s first AI LM computational photography platform, enhancing image processing across CPU, GPU, NPU, and ISP. Camera features include 20x UltraZoom Beta, Dynamic Shots, UltraSnap, and more.

Which one should you get?

The POCO F7 Ultra is the clear choice for those who want top-tier performance, better cameras, and faster charging. At PhP 35,000 (early bird), it’s also the cheapest Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered phone on the market, significantly undercutting rivals like the Samsung S25 (PhP 52,000) and Xiaomi 15 (PhP 46,000).

Meanwhile, the POCO F7 Pro is a great option for those who want a high-performance device with a larger battery while saving a few thousand pesos. At PhP 25,000 (early bird), it remains a strong value-for-money choice in its segment. With both phones pushing the boundaries of flagship performance at competitive prices, POCO is proving once again that it knows how to shake up the market. Whether you go Ultra or Pro, you’re getting a powerhouse device at an unbeatable price.
