realme GT 7 Pro shows off AI tricks and underwater photography, launched globally

realme just announced its flagship phone, the realme GT 7 Pro, globally. The latest entry to the series calls itself the “Dark Horse of AI” as it parades a handful of AI features that cater to all kinds of users, from gamers to photographers.

Under the hood, it has a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip working with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. With this setup, the GT 7 Pro can power AI processes, including AI Sketch to Image, which generates images based on your drawings, and AI Game Super Resolution, which upscales visuals to 1.5K resolution. That way, you get to fully enjoy its 6.78-inch 120Hz display.

We’ve also got some more familiar features like AI Eraser, AI Recording Summary, AI Smart Loop, and AI Studio for creating AI Portraits.

On the photography end, the realme GT 7 Pro comes with AI Motion Deblur which, as the name suggests, sharpens blurred photos. There’s also AI Telephoto Ultra Clarity which assists in sharpening the image as well when using the camera’s zoom lens. Speaking of, for its camera setup, the realme GT 7 Pro touts around 2 50-megapixel cameras, one main with a Sony IMX906 sensor one Periscope Portrait with a Sony IMX882 sensor, and one 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

For selfies, it offers a 16-megapixel shooter.

The most interesting thing about its camera system, however, is its Underwater Mode. Given its IP69 dust and water resistance rating, you can take the realme GT 7 Pro underwater and the company created a shooting mode to utilize this feature.

It’s a pretty slim device but it does pack a generous 6500mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging. It also boasts dual speakers with Hi-Res audio certification and ships with realme UI 6.0 with AI customization features.

The realme GT 7 Pro comes in two colors — Mars Orange and Galaxy Grey. Pricing has yet to be announced in the Philippines but in Malaysia, it’s priced at RM3,699 (around about PhP 48,500)
