Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare come to PC this October 29

-

For the first time since its release over a decade ago, Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption is finally making its way to PC. On October 29, 2024, both the original Red Dead Redemption and its iconic zombie-horror expansion Undead Nightmare will be available to PC gamers.

Red Dead Redemption, the critically acclaimed open-world Western epic, follows John Marston’s complex journey across the American frontier. The game has a storied history, often regarded as one of Rockstar’s finest narratives, and has maintained a strong following over the years. With the new PC release, players can re-experience Marston’s tale, but now in stunning 4K and with a host of modern PC enhancements.

Key upgrades include support for ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) aspect ratios as well as full keyboard and mouse support. Upscaling tech comes in the form of NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FS3.0 which can help you achieve smoother frame rates even at more demanding settings. The game will also offer adjustable draw distances, customizable shadow settings, and more.

This release marks a major milestone, as the original Red Dead Redemption has long been unavailable to PC players, despite its immense popularity. While Red Dead Redemption 2 has been on PC for a while, the original game has only been playable on consoles.

The enhanced version of Red Dead Redemption will be available for pre-purchase soon on the Rockstar Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store, with the official launch slated for October 29, 2024. Pricing details haven’t been announced yet
