Forget waiting for subtitles — Samsung’s new Vision AI translates them for you on the fly. Unveiled at CES 2025, Samsung Vision AI brings cutting-edge artificial intelligence capabilities, previously seen on its smartphones, to its latest lineup of TVs.
Samsung Vision AI is a suite of advanced AI-powered features designed to enhance the functionality of Samsung TVs. At its core, it focuses on creating an adaptive, intuitive viewing experience.
One of its standout capabilities is Live Translate, a feature that uses on-device AI to provide real-time subtitle translations for live broadcasts. With support for up to seven languages, Live Translate eliminates the need to rely on pre-generated subtitles, making global content more accessible than ever.
For example, imagine watching a live-streamed international sports event or a foreign drama. Samsung Vision AI’s Live Translate feature ensures you can follow the action without missing a beat. It’s especially useful for households with multilingual viewers, allowing everyone to enjoy content in their preferred language.
Beyond translation, Samsung Vision AI integrates seamlessly with the SmartThings ecosystem, making your TV a hub for smarter living. Home Insights send real-time safety notifications to your mobile device, while Pet and Family Care uses the TV’s camera and sensors to monitor unusual activities, such as falls or break-ins. These features demonstrate how Samsung is reimagining TVs as interactive tools that go beyond entertainment.
The potential applications of Samsung Vision AI are vast.
Picture yourself streaming a global live concert, where lyrics and dialogue are instantly translated into your native language. Or, consider how it can enhance education—students can watch international documentaries or lectures with real-time subtitle support. Even business professionals can use the technology to collaborate across language barriers during video presentations.
Additionally, Samsung Vision AI transforms your TV into an artistic centerpiece. With Generative Wallpaper, powered by AI, your screen becomes a dynamic art canvas tailored to your taste. Combined with the expanded Samsung Art Store, which now includes over 3,000 curated works, the TV seamlessly blends technology and aesthetics.
When Will It Be Available?
Samsung Vision AI will debut on the company’s 2025 flagship TVs, including Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, OLED models, and The Frame. These TVs are expected to hit the market by mid-2025. Pre-orders will likely open a few months earlier, and Samsung has already announced exclusive promotions for early adopters.
