Shure has launched its MoveMic system, allowing users to record directly to their smartphones without the need for a receiver like most lapel microphones.
Available in both single-channel (MoveMicOne) and dual-channel (MoveMicTwo) configurations, this innovative system simplifies the recording process by enabling direct transmission to smartphones via the intuitive MOTIV mobile app.
The MOTIV mobile app provides users with a suite of tools to optimize audio quality and customize settings according to individual preferences. Users can adjust parameters such as gain, limiter, compression, noise reduction, and EQ, offering precise control over audio output. Additionally, the app enables convenient features like recording and live streaming directly to platforms like Facebook, with YouTube livestream integration planned for Spring 2024.
With its compact and lightweight design, the MoveMic system offers up to 8 hours of battery life and IPX4 water resistance, ensuring reliability in various recording environments.
The MoveMic weighs merely 8.2 grams and measures 46 x 22 mm (1.8 x 0.8 inches), ensuring minimal visual presence when worn. It’s also IPX4 water-resistant which adds versatility and boasts up to eight hours of battery life per mic unit and an additional two charges from the case.
With a transmission range of 100 feet or approximately 30 meters, users benefit from flexibility without compromising audio quality. Moreover, the MoveMic automatically reconnects to the last paired device for a seamless user experience.
The Shure MoveMic system – both MoveMicOne and MoveMicTwo — are now available for purchase starting at US$ 249 on Amazon.
There’s also the MoveMicTwo Receiver Kit (US$ 499) which includes a dedicated receiver for added convenience. Users can also separately purchase a receiver for US$ 199.
