Sony introduces the ultra-wide FE 20-70mm F4 G SEL2070G lens, redefining the standard zoom category. This remarkable full-frame lens features a compact, lightweight design and constant F4 aperture throughout its 20-70mm zoom range.

Starting on February 17, 2023, a limited number of Sony Authorized Dealers countrywide will start selling the new FE 20-70mm F4 G for PhP 75,000.

This new lens is made for a wide spectrum of producers because to its exceptional G Lens image quality, high-speed accuracy and tracking AF, and clever design for optimal mobility and operability. The FE 20-70mm F4 G is the ideal choice for still portrait and landscape photography as well as video production.

With Sony’s most recent lens design and XD (extreme dynamic) Linear Motors technology, the compact and lightweight new standard zoom that covers ultra-wide 20-70mm, the FE 20-70mm F4 G, only weighs 488g but offers superb optical performance in a wonderfully compact, lightweight size.

Also, when capturing video with a 16:9 or 2.35:1 aspect ratio, it is feasible to keep a broad angle of view thanks to the ultra-wide 20mm end of the zoom range.

With its cutting-edge optical design that concurrently corrects chromatic and spherical aberration for very high optical performance throughout the whole zoom range, the new lens sports the distinctive G Lens image quality.

Beautiful bokeh is accomplished with full-frame picture sensors and is further enhanced by a 9-blade circular aperture and optimally calibrated spherical aberration. Moreover, full-frame image sensors are achieved and provide remarkable contrast and clarity.

Two of Sony’s newest XD Linear Motors provide strong thrust for a quick, silent, low-vibration focus drive, driving the lens’ focus group. Up to a 60% increase in AF speed (Compared to the SEL2470Z) can be attributed to a significant improvement in thrust efficiency over earlier models.

The Active Mode image stabilization of Alpha series cameras is highly effective at the ultra-wide 20 mm end of the FE 20-70mm F4 G zoom range, providing excellent image stabilization performance while maintaining a wide angle of view.

The FE 20-70mm F4 G reduces focus breathing as well as focus and axial shift when zooming to ensure that the highest quality images are captured. When walking, this can be very helpful for filming steady, fluid handheld video.

The independent focus, zoom, and aperture rings on the new FE 20-70mm F4 G have been designed for optimum versatility when shooting video as well as complete control while taking still photos.

Together with the development of this new lens, Sony also revealed plans to produce the eagerly anticipated FE 300mm F2.8 GM OSS Telephoto lens in early 2024.

Sports and wildlife photographers all over the world praise large-aperture super-telephoto lenses like the FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS and FE 600mm F4 GM OSS for their exceptional clarity and AF performance. As a result, the new lens offers a 300 mm focal length and a big F2.8 aperture in addition to the renowned high-resolution and breathtakingly gorgeous bokeh of Sony’s range of flagship G Master series lenses.
