HBO is set to release its original Taiwanese series, Who’s By Your Side, this October. The 10-episode series stars Kaiser Chuang, Janine Chang, and Vivian Hsu with each episode running for about an hour each.
At the helm of the project is Golden Bell-winning director Peter Ho with screenplay co-written by Chiang Yu-Chu. Adding to HBO Asia’s growing roster of titles, Who’s By Your Side is a dark drama that fleshes out the lives of the leading characters as they face issues with marriage, relationships, and other heartbreaking moments.
Chuang stars as the debt-ridden car mechanic Zhi-Sheng who is married to Vivian Hsu’s character Yong-Jie. To help her husband, the kind-hearted Yong-Jie works two jobs but despite that, Zhi-Sheng questions her loyalty to him, making baseless claims of infidelity.
Yong-Qi, Yong-Jie’s step=sister, seeing her in-law also ponders on her supposdly perfect marriage with the wealthy and respected Hao-Yuan.
Along with Chuang, Chang, Hsu, cast members include Ivan Chen, Lu Hsueh-Feng, Ellen, Wu, Michael Chang, and Chiao Yuan Yuan.
The first episode of Who’s By Your Side is slated to air on October 3 of this year exclusively on HBO.
