PUMA is reintroducing the Palermo — a legendary shoe that pays tribute to the coastal capital of Sicily.
Initially popular among the terrace crowd in football stadiums during the 1980s, the Palermo OG is making a comeback after being teased by PUMA collaborator and ambassador Dua Lipa.
Retaining its original loom the PUMA Palermo sports the familar blue-and-white color scheme, classic gum sole, retro T-toe construction, and gold PUMA lettering on the signature tag. The iconic cat logo can be found on the heel of the shoe as well.
The Palermo was originally part of a special series of sneakers honoring European capitals, and it continues to evoke a strong sense of football nostalgia. In August, two additional colorways inspired by Palermo’s fruit vendors will be released.
The PUMA Palermo OG will be exclusively available in the Philippines starting July 18 at PUMA L2 Main Wing Shangri-La and on PUMA.com.
