In a bid to reinforce its position as the country’s leading pickup truck manufacturer, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has unveiled the latest addition to its lineup, the new Hilux GR Sport (GR-S). Drawing inspiration from the Dakar-winning GR Hilux, the new Hilux GR-S boasts a more robust design, featuring a wide-tread body, matte black GR-S overfenders, 17-inch alloy GR design wheels equipped with All-Terrain Tires, and the GR Aero sports bar.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Hilux GR-S is 120 mm wider and 65 mm taller, resulting in an overall more rugged appearance. These design enhancements underscore the vehicle’s improved generational characteristics, emphasizing quality, durability, and reliability.

Under the hood, the new Hilux GR-S packs a punch with its 2.8L Diesel, four-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC Variable Nozzle Turbo engine, complete with an air-cooled intercooler. The engine delivers an impressive maximum output of 224PS and a peak torque of 550Nm. Enhancing the driving experience, the new Hilux GR-S features GR front and rear disc brakes with GR brake calipers and monotube shock absorbers, making it equally capable on and off the road.

Inside, the cabin of the new Hilux GR-S exudes sophistication, with GR-S suede and leather seats providing both comfort and style. A tasteful GR-S emblem adorns the leather steering wheel, complemented by leather door trims with technical mesh and red seatbelts, further emphasizing the sporty aesthetic. The vehicle is equipped with modern amenities, including a 9-inch Display Audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a convenient Wireless Charger. Smart Entry and Push Start System add to the overall convenience of every ride.

Safety has not been overlooked in the new Hilux GR-S, with the addition of a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) and a host of safety features such as a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), and Downhill Assist Control (DAC).
