Toyota Motor Philippines silently launches the first-ever automatic GR Yaris, price and specs

-

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has quietly introduced the 2025 Toyota GR Yaris with an automatic transmission, marking the first time the rally-bred hot hatch is available beyond a manual gearbox.

Previously exclusive to a 6-speed manual transmission, the GR Yaris now offers an 8-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission (A/T) with paddle shifters, making it more accessible to a wider audience while retaining its motorsport DNA.

Under the hood, the 1.6L turbocharged three-cylinder engine delivers 280 PS and 390 Nm of torque, paired with Toyota’s GR-Four all-wheel-drive system. The automatic variant also gets exclusive features like Dynamic Radar Cruise Control for added convenience.

Both versions pack the same performance upgrades, including a new sub-radiator and intercooler spray system for better cooling, as well as drive mode select for enhanced driving dynamics.

However, the A/T variant is designed for drivers who prefer quick, seamless shifts without a clutch pedal, making it a daily-drivable rally car.

Pricing and Availability in the Philippines

  • GR Yaris 1.6L Turbo A/T – PHP 3,550,000
  • GR Yaris 1.6L Turbo M/T – PHP 3,391,000

The new Precious Metal color joins the lineup alongside Super White, Emotional Red, and Precious Black.

Catch the Toyota GR Yaris A/T in action at the 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup – Race Weekend 1 on March 22 at Clark International Speedway. Admission is free.
