Todd Phillips’ Joker was a film that made pop culture history. Dark yet enthralling, Gotham’s madman came to life in the most emphatic way and that may be thanks to Joaquin Phoenix’s excellent portrayal as well.

About 5 years later, Phoenix is back as Arthur Fleck, nay, a fully-formed Joker tucked away at the infamous Arkham Asylum in Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux.

With teasers all over the place, you may already know that Lady Gaga will star opposite Phoenix as the lovable but demented Harley Quinn. The latest trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux gives a better glimpse at the magical start of the two villains before they become the destructive duo we know them to be.

Announced earlier this year, Joker: Folie à Deux is a jukebox musical featuring reinterpretations of popular classics though it was hinted that a few original songs may come into play. With Lady Gaga as part of the film, it isn’t all the surprising should this be true.

Joker: Folie à Deux is set to release in the US on October 4.
