At a product launch event in Barcelona, Spain, Xiaomi introduced its newest flagship smartphone series, the Xiaomi 13 Series, to the international markets.

The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro promise to provide a completely new smartphone photographic experience to its international users through in-depth product collaborations between Xiaomi and Leica as part of the Strategic Partnership in Imaging Technologies.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro comes in two colorways — Ceramic Black or Ceramic White. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage starting at €1299 (approx. PhP 76,016).

The Xiaomi 13 is just as fashionable and comes in Black, White, and Flora Green colors. It starts at €999 (approx. PhP 58,465) and is offered with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Finally, the Xiaomi 13 Lite, which comes in Blue, Pink, and Black hues retails for €499 (approx. PhP 29,198) for 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage configuration.

The eagerly awaited twin flagship models were proudly co-engineered with Leica and feature Leica professional optical lenses in addition to a wide range of cutting-edge computational and software features that round out the genuine Leica experience. The most recent Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and Xiaomi’s proprietary Surge battery management technology are additional high-end features that guarantee powerful performances across the board.

Both smartphones are kitted with a triple camera setup featuring Leica optical lenses.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s three cameras — a telephoto camera, a wide-angle camera, and a 14mm ultra-wide angle camera — can capture images with focal lengths ranging from 14mm to 75mm.

The IMX989 sensor, which debuted in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, is the biggest sensor ever included in a smartphone.

The big sensor’s strong dynamic range, excellent light-capturing abilities, and quick reflexes produce vivid images with distinct contrast and defined textures that clearly show every minute detail. The smartphone’s new 75mm telephoto lens uses a floating lens design and internal focusing technology similar to that found in DSLRs to achieve a focal range of 10 cm to infinity, making it ideal for framing beautiful close-ups and portraits.

The vanilla Xiaomi 13, on the other hand, sports a 75mm telephoto lens with an optical zoom range of 0.6x to 3.2x.

Leica Genuine Look and Leica Vibrant Look are two different photographic styles that users can choose from, providing a variety of aesthetic options with accurate and moderately saturated photographs.

Leica Filters, Leica watermark, and the vintage Leica shutter sound are some more entertaining elements with an appealing and simple-to-use Interface.

Of all Xiaomi flagships, the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 have the most powerful computational photography capabilities thanks to Xiaomi Imaging Engine.

Together with faster photo-taking times, the smartphones now include Xiaomi ProFocus, which further improves the quality of the overall camera experience by automatically focusing on specific moving subjects.

Both smartphones enable manual shooting parameter adjustments in pro mode, providing excellent image improvement.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro supports Adobe’s 10-Bit RAW DNG Camera and Color Profiles, giving experts more post-editing space in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.

Both the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are powered by the industry-leading Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, which has improved graphics processing thanks to improvements in GPU performance and power efficiency of 42% and 49%, respectively, over the previous generation and improvements in CPU performance and power efficiency of 37% and 47%.

The devices also offer Wi-Fi 7 support with the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System

The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have a battery management system called Xiaomi Surge that makes use of Xiaomi’s own Surge charging processor for improved performance and a longer lifespan.

Xiaomi 13 will easily last all day because of its 4,500mAh battery. It also supports 67W wired turbocharging and 50W wireless turbocharging. The Xiaomi 13 Pro, meanwhile, has a 4820mAh battery that is even bigger with 120W HyperCharge capable of charging it to 100% in just 19 minutes.

Offered in shades of Black, White, and Flora Green, the Xiaomi 13 features a 2.5D curved back and a chic flat screen design with flat borders. The Xiaomi 13 has a huge 6.36-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen that uses the E6 AMOLED material, which offers superior color accuracy and brightness while using less battery.

Both devices also offer IP68 dust and water resistance.
