GAC Motor Philippines launches all-new GS3 EMZOOM, priced

GAC MOTOR Philippines, in collaboration with Astara Philippines, hosted the grand launch of the highly anticipated All-New GS3 EMZOOM at The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City. The event marked the international debut of the GS3 EMZOOM, following its successful unveiling in China last December. The new crossover model is set to elevate the GAC brand and make a bold statement on Philippine roads with its dynamic and sporty character.

As the latest iteration of GAC MOTOR’s GS3 crossover lineup, the All-New GS3 EMZOOM offers a compelling package of striking aesthetics, spacious interiors, intelligent technology, and remarkable performance, all at an accessible price point. Designed to cater to the needs of the modern generation who are always on the go, the GS3 EMZOOM represents a trendy and intelligent SUV.

The vehicle showcases GAC’s distinctive design language, characterized by a bold and futuristic aesthetic defined by angular edges, geometric textures, and a dynamic stance. Its eye-catching appearance, coupled with 19-inch alloy wheels and an exclusive Sporty Body Kit for the top-of-the-range GL variant, ensures it stands out on city roads.

Featuring a Flying Wing Front Grille and Laser-Eye LED headlights, the GS3 EMZOOM exudes a sporty attitude while maintaining its sleek and futuristic appeal. Arc shadow blades on the sides lead to its unique light dart tail lamps, completing the striking exterior design.

Inside the cabin, the GS3 EMZOOM combines trendy aesthetics with functionality and comfort. The futuristic design language continues with advanced technological features, including dual screens, a multi-function steering wheel, leather seats, wireless charging, and futuristic AC vents.

An electric sunroof with shades adds to the cabin’s spacious and airy atmosphere, while the wide cabin layout offers ample legroom and shoulder space for a comfortable ride.

The GS3 EMZOOM also distinguishes itself in terms of interior space, surpassing its competitors in the sub-compact crossover segment. With numerous storage spaces and compartments accommodating up to 21 items, as well as a capacious luggage compartment that expands further when the rear seats are folded flat, the GS3 EMZOOM ensures generous cargo space.

Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a power tailgate for added convenience during loading and unloading.

GAC MOTOR’s commitment to cutting-edge technology is evident in the GS3 EMZOOM, which boasts the latest tech and safety features. The vehicle supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Phone Mirroring, and features a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster.

Safety is prioritized with standard features such as Dual Front Side and Curtain Airbags, seatbelts with Pretensioner and Force Limiters, Hill-start Hold Control (HHC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Electronic Parking Brake with Autohold, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX Child Safety Seat Anchors, and Engine Immobilizer.

The GS3 EMZOOM also offers an array of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, including cruise control, parking sensors, a reverse camera, High Beam Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Lane Departure Warning.

Powering the All-New GS3 EMZOOM is a third-generation 1.5 Turbocharged gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine paired with a seven-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission. This impressive engine delivers 174 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque, providing high performance and efficiency.

The All-New GS3 EMZOOM will be available in three variants, each with its own special introductory price point:

Huawei MateBook 13 hands-on, first impressions

The Huawei MateBook 13 will soon be available for purchase in the country and it aims to offer productivity on-the-go without sacrificing performance. We just got the device to test out and while we’re preparing for the full review, here are our first impressions.

The MateBook 13 prides itself by offering the FullView experience that the Huawei MateBook X Pro initially introduced to the market. It comes with a 13-inch FullView display with really slim bezels all around. This gives the device a more premium look at first glance and maximizes the screen real estate while keeping a compact form factor.

It has a QHD panel meaning you have 2K resolution or twice the resolution of a FullHD display. Having a 3:2 aspect ratio, the screen dictates usage more for content creation (like graphics work) and document editing.

The screen is also capable of multi-touch input so you can simply use swipe gestures when browsing the internet — just like how you would on a smartphone.

As mentioned earlier, it comes in a compact and portable body that’s durable enough thanks to its metal chassis. Opening and closing the lid doesn’t feel flimsy but rather reinforced and with a premium feel to it.

Just like what I personally look for in a laptop, the lid can be opened and closed using only one hand so that’s definitely a plus for me. And, with its thin profile, it can easily be brought around or packed in a regular-sized backpack.

Having been able to use it for just a couple of days, its backlit chiclet keys have so far been a joy to type on. The trackpad is also decently sized, but then again, I just find myself using the touch input more when clicking on buttons or browsing online.

The power button sits at the upper right corner and doubles as a fingerprint scanner to add a layer of security to the device. So far, the response time has been quick and instantly unlocks the laptop when we use it.

Inside, it can carry up to Intel’s Core i7-10510U processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics. It also comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage responsible for a faster boot-up.

One of its main features is Huawei Share meant for increasing productivity between members of the team. It supports Multi-screen collaboration that allows users to work on their smartphones and share content to the laptop.

This removes the need to save and send files from a phone just to open it somewhere else. We’ll be testing this feature out further and provide feedback in our full review.

Inside the box, the laptop comes with its own 65W USB-C power adapter which also supports Huawei SuperCharge for certain phones. It also has an additional adapter for USB-A so you can still use your thumb drives or external hard drives.
