Edifice and Mugen announce special timepiece collab

In an exciting development for car enthusiasts and timepiece collectors alike, Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has revealed a special collaboration between EDIFICE and MUGEN (officially known as M-TEC Company, Ltd.), the renowned Honda works brand. This collaboration will unveil the latest timepiece collection set to join the EDIFICE lineup in September 2023.

The forthcoming timepiece collection, labeled as the ECB-40MU, marks the first-ever collaboration between MUGEN and EDIFICE. MUGEN, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, brings a wealth of motorsports expertise to the table, while EDIFICE represents Casio’s line of timepieces inspired by the world of motorsports. The collection encapsulates the theme of “Speed and Intelligence.”

With a history steeped in crafting components for Honda automobiles and active participation in a range of motorsports events, including F1TM and the Isle of Man TT, MUGEN has cultivated a strong reputation as a professional racing team. Casio’s association with MUGEN dates back to 1985, when they began supporting the company’s endeavors, particularly in motorcycle endurance racing.

Tony Yiu, General Manager of CSC Time, Inc., expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration: “We are excited to share the newest timepiece in collaboration with MUGEN. Just like how MUGEN exhibits speed and intelligence, EDIFICE created a watch that will fit racers not only in style, but also their lifestyle. EDIFICE is committed to continue bringing dynamic watch designs combined with cutting-edge technology to people.”

The design of the ECB-40MU timepiece elegantly showcases MUGEN’s brand colors – white, red, gold, and black – against a predominantly black backdrop. The distinctive MUGEN brand logo and the Eye Commander logo, emblematic of MUGEN’s spirit, are embossed on the band. Drawing inspiration from formula race car suspensions, the band is crafted from Alcantara, a high-performance material often found in sports car interiors due to its durability and breathability.

In terms of functionality, the timepiece offers Mobile Link features that facilitate smartphone synchronization via Bluetooth, ensuring automatic time correction and seamless world time adjustment. A Schedule Timer feature syncs with the user’s smartphone calendar app, displaying scheduled activity start and end times on the watch’s LCD.

Dubbed the ECB-40MU, the watch adopts MUGEN’s brand colors while showcasing an Alcantara band for optimal comfort and style. It brings together a color scheme featuring white, red, gold, and black MUGEN brand colors,  numbers using the actual font supplied by MUGEN, and a band crafted from Alcantara material.

EDIFICE remains dedicated to channeling the world of motorsports through its innovative product offerings and collaborative timepieces. The much-anticipated ECB-40MU will be available in authorized CASIO stores nationwide this September, retailing at PhP 24,950. Elevate your collection with this stylish and intelligent addition that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of racing.
