Urtopia boasts producing one of the greenest e-bikes in the world

How green is an e-bike from production to usage?

Urtopia is the first e-bike brand to clearly disclose the exact carbon footprint of its product.

Collaborated with Bureau Veritas, one of the world’s biggest certification agencies, Urtopia found that its flagship carbon fiber e-bike Carbon 1 and Carbon 1s have a cradle-to-gate product carbon footprint of 276.58 kg and 279.76 kg CO2-equivalent respectively.

This number is only about 5% of an electric vehicle and is even lower than shared bikes.

In the stage of usage, benefiting from the proprietary controlling algorithms of the company, Urtopia’s e-bike only produces about 4 grams of CO2 per km of riding on average (based on the carbon emission of electricity in Germany), which is almost as green as a conventional bike.

With the solid data stated above, Urtopia proudly announces that it produces one of the greenest e-bike in the world. Riding Urtopia e-bike for only 154km is equivalent to planting a tree, and it takes less than 3000 km of riding to reach carbon neutrality.

How could personal carbon credits be precisely measured and documented?

Riding a bike is a green behavior that creates personal carbon credits.

However, it has been a problem to measure and document the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction with a real and verifiable amount.
