The Dyson Corrale hair straightener uses less heat for less damage

Dyson’s back to give us another drool-worthy product.

Adding to their portfolio of hair styling products is the new Dyson Corrale — a cordless hair straightener that spares your hair from damage by using less heat without sacrificing results.

At first glance, the Dyson Corrale is shaped and designed much like a regular straightener. It boasts of a cordless design and is equipped with lithium-ion batteries that can be fully charged in about 70 minutes.

Depending on length of use and temperature, it should last from 30 to 60 minutes. If you don’t really need the cordless functionality, it can still be used when plugged in via the 360-degree magnetic cable.

Additionally, Dyson made the Corrale travel-friendly by adding a flight-safe tab to eject the batteries so you can store it in your check-in luggage.

Dyson Corrale

The main feature of the Corrale is its ultra-thin and flexible manganese copper alloy plates. These plates flex around your hair to gather it and keep it in one place instead of fraying out as you drag down.

Currently, the Corrale is the only hair straightener on the market that has flexible plates. This technology allows for evenly distributed tension across hair strands which means less heat is needed to straighten hair.

Less heat means less damage and less damage means healthier, more lustrous hair.

The Corrale runs at least 40-degrees cooler than other hair straighteners, topping out at 410 degrees instead of the usual 450. The device’s heat is said to be checked 100 times per second to ensure that it doesn’t go past the pre-set temperature. Apart from straightening, it’s also capable of achieving loose waves and curls.

Much like any Dyson product, the Dyson Corrale is a premium device that comes at a premium price, US$ 499.99 to be exact.

It comes in the signature black nickel and fuchsia color Dyson is known for but also comes in a bright, metallic purple. It’s currently available for purchase at the official online store in the US and UK and will most likely follow to physical stores soon.
