The Tilta Khronos is a versatile, cable-free, customizable system for iPhone filmmaking

The Tilta Khronos system — which includes about 30 or so accessories — was first teased in December of last year when Angie Su and Claudio Miranda debuted The X Gift — a film shot entirely on iPhone.

Originally slated for a January 2024 launch, the Tilta Khronos ecosystem, instead, makes an appearance at this year’s NAB show.

What is Tilta Khronos?

Tilta Khronos is a comprehensive lineup of filmmaking accessories crafted for the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. At the heart of the system are the custom-designed aluminum alloy cages. Built specifically for the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro Max, the Tilta Khronos cages connect to the USB-C port  and feature multiple mounting points including a locking clamp for mounting handles, additional USB ports, and more.

What makes the Khoronos a versatile cage for filmmaking are the multiple integrated contact points that allow power the system’s accessories. No worries on draining your iPhone battery since power is drawn from the Power Handle accessory instead. Of course, a MagSafe mount is ready at the back.

The Tilta Khronos cage comes in two colors: Space Gray and Titanium White

The Khronos Ecosystem

While the cage is its heart, all its accessories are the meat. The Tilta Khronos ecosystem features about 30 products, each addressing different needs of mobile filmmaking.

One of the first things you’ll want to get your hands on is the aforementioned Focus HD Handle. Attaching to either side of the cage, the Power Handle is the source of, well, power to the rest of the accessories. It comes with a built-in, USB-C rechargeable battery. It also provides onboard controls for focus and zoom for more ergonomic operation.

In addition to the power handle, there’s also a circular wooden handle that features a NATO rail for mounting accessories, a simpler wooden handle, and an adjustable handle.

As for what accessories you can mount on the Khronos, you have your pick. For your most basic filmmaking needs, the Khronos ecosystem comes with a mini LED panel, a lens adapter and filter tray, magnetic filters, and a selection of quick-release adapters. Additionally, you can mount a MagSafe-compatible cooling system which helps keep temperatures down when shooting.

There’s also a quick-release USB-C hub should you need more ports, an SSD holder, a magnetic power bank, and external monitor mounts as well.

Changing the power of choice: Introducing the all-new Changan Alsvin

Changan Motor Philippines Inc., the official distributor of Changan vehicles in the Philippines, has brought a serious contender to the subcompact sedan segment that allows customers to expect more and nothing less: the Changan Alsvin.

Known in other countries as the sedan that “exceeds everyday demands and expectations,” the Alsvin is built to ensure that you will not be compromising your standards— be it in terms of style, technology, fuel efficiency, or safety. Measuring 4,390mm long, 1,725mm wide, and 1,490mm high and with a wheelbase of 2,535mm, the Alsvin is ready to win you over with its size and an array of irresistible features.

Outside, you will be greeted by its eye-catching “Butterfly-wing” radiator grille, which comes with Projector Headlamps and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL). This is the sedan that also comes with an enviable sunroof which can be used for added natural light and ventilation inside the cabin. But the surprises do not end there because standard to the Alsvin are the 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system that can play music and videos, control wireless phone calls via Bluetooth, and access the AM/FM radio; the manual air-conditioning system with its modern digital display; and plush leather seats that are bound to impress.

And to stay true to its promise of exceeding everyday demands and expectations, the Alsvin is giving you the power to choose the efficient variant fit for your everyday driving needs. There is the 1.4L 5-speed manual transmission that can deliver maximum power of 100ps and maximum torque of 135Nm; and the 1.5L 5-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) that gives you a maximum power of 107ps and maximum torque of 145Nm. The 1.5L 5-Speed DCT also applies to the Alsvin Platinum variant which is packed with the Cruise Control function that lets you lock on to your desired speed and the Blind Spot Camera and Monitor that make parking easier and safer.

Safety in the Alsvin does not end there. It is also equipped with Dual Airbags and Reverse Camera, while its DCT variants possess the Hill-Hold Control (HHC) that lets you apply brakes before seamlessly changing from brake pedal to accelerator and the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) that detects skidding and applies the brakes to individual wheels if necessary, to counter the loss of steering control.

Accomplishing your daily essentials while exceeding your expectations gets more convenient with the Changan Alsvin at an introductory price that starts at PhP 539,000.
