realme C3 Unboxing and Hands-on

With smartphone brands releasing gaming-focused hardware, mobile gaming has been made possible to the point that its number of users is now competing against those playing on dedicated consoles and gaming PCs. One challenge for phone-makers, though, is packing all the needed components to run resource-heavy games into one handheld device.

This makes the entire package expensive and we’ve seen it with brands like Razer and its array of gaming peripherals for its phone. Although if your budget is a bit limited and you just need a decent phone capable of processing heavy games, realme has you covered.

This is our realme C3 unboxing and hands-on.

What’s inside?

Being an entry-level phone, the packaging itself is pretty straightforward. Inside, you have a pair of guides, the phone itself, a micro-USB cable, its USB wall socket, and nothing more. There are no earphones or a phone case included but considering its price and what it offers, it’s totally understandable.

The phone itself has a plastic back which features what the company calls a Sunrise Design with its patterns similar to a depiction of the sun’s rays. Two color options are available — Blazing Red and Frozen Blue.

In terms of button placement, you have the power/lock button on the right and volume buttons on the left side lined up with its triple card slot.

Its 6.5-inch HD+ screen boasts a mini-drop design for the notch where its 5-megapixel front camera is located. Turn it around and we see the triple shooters with AI technology headlined by its 12-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel macro shooter, and another 2-megapixel portrait sensor.

The phone is powered by a Helio G70 octa-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Using its microSD support, storage capacity can be extended up to an additional 256GB. It runs on Android 10 with realme’s UI on top.

Giving juice to the C3 is a 5000mAh battery capable of 10W charging. It even supports reverse charging so you can share some of your battery life to other supported phones.

The realme C3 is currently priced at PhP 5,990. At that price, it’s hard to beat what the company is offering on paper. This is why we’re putting it through its paces to see if it truly offers capable gaming performances on a daily basis.
