LG celebrates world TV Day with a spotlight on its NanoCell TV

Building on the success of their recent livestream events, LG Philippines will be hosting an online event, this time to celebrate World TV Day. The wide anticipated international date was conceptualized by the United Nations 24 years ago. It was to commemorate the date on which the first World Television Forum was held in 1996. TV plays an important role in communication and globalization. That’s why each year, LG makes sure to celebrate TV and its contributions to society.

The event will be hosted by longtime LG brand ambassador James Deakin. Taking the spotlight for LG’s World TV Day celebrations is the South Korean brand’s NanoCell TV. James Deakin and LG product manager for TV Aaron Parcon will be discussing the finer points of NanoCell technology and how its innovations present incredible value for your household.

One of the biggest selling points of LG NanoCell TV is its ability to show Pure Color. Pure RGB colors are the key to realistic picture quality. NanoCell Technology applies nanoparticles that create pure colors by filtering out dull colors and enhancing the purity of the RGB spectrum. With conventional TVs, you see the impure colors that are with the RGB spectrum. With NanoCell technology, nanoparticles are present to filter these out, changing them into vivid, accurate colors. Pure Black is achieved with the use of local dimming, which balances backlighting wherever your scenes need it for deeper black and enhanced contrast.

Aside from the impeccable picture quality offered by LG NanoCell TV, it also blends well with any interior. LG NanoCell TVs have a Nano Bezel, which is designed to blend with any interior and delivers an immersive viewing experience without any interruption. Even if your space is small, LG NanoCell TV promises true color at any angle. While LG Nano Cell TV maintains colors as accurately nearly 100% from the side as it does from the front, conventional TVs might not.

LG NanoCell TV is also powered by LG’s ThinQ artificial intelligence (AI) technology. With this, all of your LG home appliances and electronics can be interconnected, making it a truly smart home. The Home Dashboard acts as the central hub that lets you command and control your smart home ecosystem. You can use the magic remote for voice commands, as well as your smartphone through the LG ThinQ app.

Just like previous live stream events, LG will be giving away special treats and deals to viewers. There will be one lucky winner of a brand new 49” LG NanoCell TV during the live event so remember to stay tuned for the giveaway mechanics.

In celebration of World TV Day, LG will be offering a special promo price for some of its TV models in Lazada. Purchases of LG 43LM5500PTA will enjoy 20% discount bringing the price down to PhP 16,800. The LG UHD 55UN7000PTA will get a 15% reduction to 31,500, the LG NanoCell TV 49Nano80PNA will be just PhP 40,990 after an 11% discount, while FHD Smart TVs, the 32LN560BPTA and 43LN5600PTA, will get a 10% and 13% discount respectively. The 32” will be 13,941 while the 43” Smart TV will go down to PhP 19,990.

Catch LG’s World TV Day live stream on November 18 at 12NN on LG’s Official Flagship Store in Lazada, Facebook, and Youtube page.

Keeping core memories alive with the OPPO Reno10 Series 5G

Growing up, I was the girl with the camera.

Around the time I was in elementary school, my parents noticed that I liked taking photos so they bought me one of those plastic, everyday cameras – a Canon Prima BF-800 if I remember correctly, the pretty beige one too.

I brought that with me wherever I went and took all the photos I could (film rolls weren’t that expensive back then).

And I was rewarded with albums and albums of tangible memories; of the mundane everyday life and special occasions, of family and friends, and of those I now do not know. Of those I’ve grown up with or those I’ve grown apart from.

In a past I can now only visit through those photos.

Memory-making in the 21st century

These days, almost everybody has a camera but in the form of a smartphone.

The problem now, at least for me, is that we’re so used to taking photos and videos, and can do so quite endlessly, that it’s kind of lost its magic. The rise of content creation and social media has us documenting everything.

And I do mean everything.

It’s a double-edged sword, of sorts. Now everyone can take photos but many may end up missing any sentiment or value, most photos then end up as just another block in the camera roll.

I’m like that too, for the most part. Being a reviewer of gadgets and all, I take a tremendous amount of photos – most of which are for testing said phone cameras – and I suppose only about half of them have a story behind them.

But all the time I’ve spent with different kinds of smartphones made me realize that it’s having a good camera that pushes me to take more photos during those important moments. Not only do I enjoy looking at the photo but it’s something I’d be happy to share with family, friends, or social media.

This year, camera offerings on smartphones have become interesting – varying combinations, high-megapixel counts, AI enhancements, pro-level features, and so on. But it can’t be denied that high-quality photos are still the goal.

In the case of the OPPO Reno10 Series 5G, there’s a new Ultra-clear camera system and a new lens – a telephoto portrait.

Documenting core memories and life milestones

One of my latest core memories was participating in this year’s TGR Vios Cup as an autocross racer representing The Modern Creatures. And for the second leg of the race, I had the Reno10 Pro+ 5G in tow.

Never in my life did I think I would attempt something like autocross so needless to say, it was a moment I wanted to remember. But participating in the race and being on the track pretty much the whole day meant I couldn’t bring a big camera – but I could bring a smartphone.

Easily slipping in and out of my racing suit pocket, I was happily able to take a lot of photos with the Reno 10 Pro+ 5G on the track, around the venue, and even in the race car.

Starting early in the morning and ending past midnight over the weekend, the Reno10 Pro+ 5G’s cameras were flexible and versatile enough to keep up. Being a fan of portraits and shallow depth of field, I loved having the telephoto portrait so easily available as well.

Fun fact: most telephoto lenses for cameras are actually big and hefty. So having a tiny phone that replicates the look of this lens was really fun for me.

I was able to take portraits of my fellow racers and had some taken of me as well.

Candid snaps are also a favorite of mine since the captured moment is often true and sincere.

The shallow depth of field or bokeh that the telephoto camera produces adds a certain cinematic quality to the photo, almost like a mirrorless camera, which makes it look more elevated than the usual smartphone snap.

Having a capable 64-megapixel main camera was also a great complement to that telephoto lens. It’s the better choice for capturing the bigger picture. Photos of locations, scenery, and other wide shots were beautifully detailed and with true-to-life colors, too.

With practice starting as early as 5 AM, I was able to catch the gentle morning sun hitting the race cars using the Reno10 Pro+5G just before we had to start. Switching to the ultra-wide lens, I was able to capture a more dramatic, cinema-like shot.

It was easy to take selfies, too, with its 32-megapixel front-facing shooter. I even snapped one a few minutes right before my turn started which makes a photo I’ll definitely want to keep.

I’ll remember that selfie well, I think, because I was incredibly nervous and consciously decided to take a photo to distract myself while waiting.

Luckily it’s not just the Pro+ that’s capable of photos like these, the Reno10 Series 5G lineup all offer high-quality cameras. The top-of-the-line model does have certain advantages and it’s the one I would recommend but I wouldn’t shy away from recommending the other members of the family as well.

It’s not just hardware either because the Reno10 Series 5G lineup offers additional software support that helps in producing these album-worthy photos.

Never mind if the sky is too bright, ProXDR is able to bring back those details in post-processing.

Skittish pets that always end up blurry in photos? The cameras actually take multiple shots when you press the shutter button and AI helps in determining the best frame. So, more often than not, photos can still come out sharp.

Basically, the Reno10 Series 5G devices come with flexible cameras partnered with capable software that do well in all sorts of scenarios; from taking intimate low-light portraits during birthday celebrations, fitting the squad into a photo during reunions, to capturing the beauty of nature during a camping trip.

Making every moment count

It’s easier to make every moment count when you’re not worrying about the quality of your photos. The cameras on the OPPO Reno10 Series 5G easily stand out because of their flexibility. You’re not limited to relying on one lens or even just one focal length. Whether wide or up close, night or day, you can keep your memories alive in the form of beautifully captured photos.

And in essence, I think that’s really why most of us want a high-quality camera anyway – to share an experience, to tell a story, to freeze a moment in time. And to look back on them years from now with a smile on our faces.

If you’re thinking of getting one for yourself, the full lineup which includes the OPPO Reno10 5G, OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G, and OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G, is already available. You can head over to OPPO’s physical stores or checkout online through the website, Shopee, or Lazada.

The OPPO Reno10 Series 5G is also available through local telecom partners Smart and Globe. Obtainable through postpaid plans, the Reno10 5G and Reno10 Pro 5G is offered by both while the Reno10 Pro+ 5G is exclusive to Globe.
