All-New Yaris Cross joins Toyota’s electrified lineup in PH, priced

Even before its official reveal, much talk (and a few spoilers) has already been heard about Toyota’s latest hybrid addition.

But now, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially introduced the All-New Toyota Yaris Cross, — a subcompact vehicle, to its electrified vehicle lineup.

This addition aims to strengthen Toyota’s commitment to carbon-neutral mobility as it comes at an attractive price point, making it their most affordable electrified vehicle to date. The nationwide launch took place on August 4, with unveiling events in Taguig City and Toyota’s 72 dealerships across the country. TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto expressed the company’s desire to make the electrified lifestyle more accessible to Filipinos.

The All-New Yaris Cross 1.5 S HEV CVT is priced at PhP 1,598,000. Two non-electrified variants are also available — All-New Yaris Cross 1.5 V CVT and 1.5 G CVT with pricing at PhP 1,296,000 and PhP 1,199,000 respectively.

From August 4-6, the All-New Yaris Cross will be available for viewing at the Amphitheater at Bonifacio Global City.

The Yaris Cross offers Toyota customers a wide range of easy and practical choices in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). It presents a best-value package that combines a modern and striking design with advanced vehicle features and technologies that enhance the lives of today’s drivers with diverse passions.

From its exterior to its interior, the All-New Yaris Cross exhibits a solid and dynamic design. Its sleek metallic body comes in various colorways, complemented by a black interior featuring stylish blue accents and a dashboard equipped with advanced features.

The front grille boasts a trapezoid design, while the rear showcases a compact back door and geometric rear lights. For the HEV variant, a panoramic moonroof adds to the premium styling of the All-New Yaris Cross.

Both the HEV and Gas variants feature LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, and fog lamps, showcasing sophistication in their rear combination lamp design.

Under the hood, the All-New Yaris Cross is powered by a 4-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve, dual VVT-i engine paired with CVT transmission.

It also offers a thoughtfully designed interior to enhance the riding experience including a 7-inch TFT multi-information display, a wireless charging dock, and a panoramic view monitor, adding to the enjoyment of the journey.

Moreover, features like electric power steering (EPS) and wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto with Bluetooth and voice command elevate the driving experience even further. The HEV variant also boasts an exclusive 6-Speaker Pioneer system, providing exceptional audio quality.

Safety is a top priority in the All-New Yaris Cross, as evident from the advanced safety technologies across different variants. The S HEV and V CVT variants come with Toyota Safety Sense, featuring Pre-Collision System (PCS), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Meanwhile, the G CVT variant is equipped with active safety features like Electronic Brake Distribution (EBS), Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), ensuring a secure driving experience in any situation.

The all-new Yaris Cross is also the first Toyota vehicle to carry the HEV carbon neutrality badge which symbolizes the company’s commitment towards a carbon-neutral future.

4 reasons to consider upgrading to the Huawei WiFi AX3

Huawei Philippines has just introduced its newest WiFi solution equipped with WiFi 6 that, on its own, comes with a handful of improvements and updates.

Apart from that, there’s more that it offers and we’ve personally experienced them as we’ve been using it for a couple of days now. Here’s why we think the new Huawei WiFi AX3 is worth considering as an upgrade to what you have at home.

1. Faster speeds

Again, its main selling point is experiencing the enhancements of WiFi 6 like fast connectivity even when multiple devices are connected and it also takes less battery life from your devices.

But on top of those, the company has further improved its technology between Huawei devices and offers WiFi 6 Plus with added benefits.

One is better performance speeds in real-world usage. Huawei claims that using its proprietary Gigahome chips, the WiFi AX3 can achieve faster speeds when directly compared to its competitors.

To be a bit technical about it, the company is using 160MHz frequency bandwidth which doubles the theoretical network speed available.

2. Stronger signals and stable connectivity

Another thing about WiFi 6 Plus is improved stability. Again, thanks to its self-developed chips, Huawei says the device is able to enhance signal quality and dramatically expand coverage as generated signal can easily pass through walls.

This basically means you’ll get to experience consistent speeds wherever you are in the house.

3. It looks good!

When it comes to design, you won’t go wrong with simplicity. And the Huawei WiFi AX3 is a simple as it can get with its wide, flat panels, and an all-white body (there’s also an all-black available).

It easily blends with any setup whether in the living room or your personal office. And it’s something that could even spark a conversation when you have other people over due to its very minimalist look.

4. One-tap NFC to connect

Speaking of having people over (and being socially responsible, of course), how many times did you have to spell out your password for your visitors? With the WiFi AX3, just use your Android phone (sorry, Apple users) to tap on its lower right corner to automatically connect to the network.

It’s a really convenient feature to have even for when you have a new device you want to connect to the router.

5. Not just a router (bonus)

As an additional reason to consider the WiFi AX3, it not only functions as a main router, but also as a WiFi extender/booster, and as your mother router for mesh networking.

Having this feature reflects Huawei’s 1+8+N strategy that involves an entire ecosystem of smart solutions from your smartphone, to wearables, to even the environment you’re in (smart home/mobile offices).

Final thoughts

With its price tag of PhP 3,999, the Huawei WiFi AX3 is positioned to be an affordable entry to accessing a new standard in WiFi technology. It aims to provide faster and more stable connectivity, looks good, and comes with features for added convenience of use.
