These new models mark the 8th generation of BMW’s mid-size executive luxury sedan lineup, blending traditional internal combustion engines with cutting-edge electric mobility. The BMW 520i and BMW i5 eDrive40 redefine premium executive-class vehicles, integrating efficiency-enhancing electrification alongside advanced driver assistance and connectivity features to provide a sporty, efficient, and progressive driving experience.
The design of the all-new BMW 520i and first-ever BMW i5 eDrive40 reflects a modern interpretation of BMW’s iconic styling cues. Both models boast a commanding presence with sleek, aerodynamic lines and distinctive LED lighting elements. The interior offers a spacious and luxurious environment, with premium materials and advanced digital interfaces enhancing comfort and convenience.
Key highlights of the interior include a fully vegan interior option called Veganza, which extends to surfaces such as the sports seats, dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel. The cockpit features a streamlined design with digital displays and touch-sensitive controls, offering intuitive access to vehicle settings and multimedia functions. Additionally, the inclusion of the Harman Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system ensures a premium audio experience for all occupants.
Technological innovation is a cornerstone of the new BMW 520i and BMW i5 eDrive40, with features such as BMW Live Cockpit Plus, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, and Smartphone Integration enhancing connectivity and convenience for drivers. Under the hood, the BMW 520i features a petrol engine producing 208 HP, while the BMW i5 eDrive40 boasts an all-electric powertrain generating 340 HP. Both models offer impressive performance and efficiency, with the BMW i5 eDrive40 achieving a maximum range of 582km on a single charge.
Safety features include driver assistance systems such as Parking Assistant and Lane Departure Warning with Driving Assistant, enhancing comfort and safety during driving.
The all-new BMW 520i and BMW i5 eDrive40 will retail for Php 4,990,000 and Php 5,790,000 respectively. Both models come with a 5-year comprehensive BMW Warranty, with the BMW i5 eDrive40 also including a 6-year BMW Service Inclusive package, an 8-year high voltage battery warranty, and a BMW Wallbox charger installed by a BMW i partner.
