More vehicles are revealed at this year’s MIAS and this time it’s from Chinese automaker Changan. During the event, the company unveiled its newest, most futuristic models yet — the Uni-T and the Uni-K.
The Changan Uni-T has a spaceship-like design with a borderless front grille, a V-shaped rear spoiler, and a panoramic sunroof that gives a 79% view of the sky.
Inside, you have all the modern essentials and more starting with push-button conveniences and a “floating” dashboard with large digital panels. The Auto air con has a PM2.5 Air Filtration System that automatically cools and cleans cabin air for added protection while the six-speaker premium Sony speakers use Clear Phase and Live Acoustics technologies to draw out all the crispness in your playlist.
Changan SafeTech features include Self-Parking, Remote Valet Parking, Automatic Parking Assist (APA) 5.0 Parking System, Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) System, Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC) with Traffic Jam Assist (TJA).
The Uni-T is powered by Changan’s 1.5-liter Blue Core Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection (TGDi) engine that produces a maximum power of 179ps and a strong pulling power of up to 300Nm. Mated to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) Electronic Shift with Normal, Eco, and Sport drive modes, the Uni-T delivers both excitement and efficiency.
Changan’s Uni-K is the big brother of their futuristic Uni-T model. This mid-sized SUV incorporates Changan’s new design language, Vision-V, which blends technology, intelligence, and human care to create a sleek, advanced aesthetic.
The Uni-K boasts a hexagonal-shaped front grille, airship-shaped spoiler, and hidden pop-out door handles, which not only look cool but also provide functionality such as engine cooling and reduced air resistance. The massive 21-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, and Trident Daytime Running Lights and Starship headlights give the Uni-K a sporty and luxurious feel.
Despite the sloping coupé roofline, the Uni-K provides surprisingly spacious cabin space, including ample legroom in the second row and generous cargo space when the rear seats are folded. The Remote Power Tailgate with Induction Sensor automatically opens when your smart key is within range and your foot is beneath the rear bumper.
Inside the car, the futuristic cockpit features leather seats that provide comfort and support, including Ventilated Front Seats that reduce sweating and seat temperature.
The Smart Quadruple Screen Interactive Layout consists of a left section showing tire pressure and door conditions, a middle section displaying vehicle speed, augmented reality real-view navigation, multimedia interface, and vehicle status, and a right section comprising a digital rear-view mirror, tachometer, and fuel gauge.
The Uni-K infotainment system includes a Sony Premium Audio System with 12 premium speakers and subwoofer, Clear Phase and Live Acoustics technology, and an innovative “headrest mode” for personalized audio experiences. In terms of safety, the Uni-K comes with Changan’s signature SafeTech features, including Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking System, Pedestrian Detection, Front Collision Warning System, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keep Assist.
These systems provide sophisticated safety features, including warning lights, audible alerts, steering wheel vibrations, and gentle steering adjustments.
Finally, the Uni-K packs maximum power of 232ps and 390Nm of torque with a 2.0-liter Blue Core Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection engine, paired with an All-Wheel Drive System from BorgWarner with 2WD, 4WD, and Auto driving options for various driving conditions. Changan’s Uni-K is an impressive mid-sized SUV that combines futuristic design with advanced technology and safety features while providing ample space, comfort, and performance.
