HP ProDesk series offers compact, WFH-ready PCs

Working from home does come with its own set of benefits and challenges. The bottom line is to remain comfortable and productive despite the inevitable distractions and the countless problems, which can and will result in downtime if one is not careful.

A good way to remain continuously efficient while working remotely is with a reliable and hardworking computer system like the HP ProDesk PC Family.

Get the WFH essentials

The most basic home office set-up requires a usable desk and a comfy chair, but the most crucial of all these requirements is, of course, a computer, without which, working remotely, would not even be possible.

Designed to meet all the needs of remote working, HP’s ProDesk PC Family is powered by Intel Core processors, one of the most trusted and preferred processor brands in the market today.

Here’s a quick summary of the HP ProDesk PC Family, in a snapshot:

  • HP ProDesk 400 G6 Desktop Mini PC – Though small in size, this desktop delivers robust power for your daily demands. It’s compact and stylish, but is capable of high-speed responsiveness, and offers a wide range of settings for adaptable flexibility.
  • HP ProDesk 400 G7 Microtower PC – A reliable desktop where expansion is possible since it features three bays and three slots, for storage, WLAN M.2 slots, and configurable ports.
  • HP ProDesk 400 G7 Small Form Factor PC – This desktop, though a bit smaller than the HP ProDesk 400 G7 MT, still delivers the same features, but only has two bays and two slots for storage, WLAN M.2 slots, and configurable ports.

Work securely at home

Privacy and security remain the top two requirements when working remotely or at home. These protective measures are necessary to protect files and confidential documents. Locking the computer nowadays is no longer enough.

Besides having strong password protocols in place when it comes to WiFi networks, the most effective way of protecting and securing files when working remotely or at home is having a computer powered and configured with extra protection. The HP ProDesk Family are hardware-enforced with privacy solutions including:

  • HP Sure Sense – Exceptional protection against advanced malware through deep Artificial Intelligence Learning.
  • HP Sure Click – Secures the computer when surfing the Internet or viewing untrusted documents.
  • HP BIOSPhere Gen6 – Enables and disables specific ports and even blocks a USB from booting, when found to be infected with a virus or Malware.
  • HP Manageability Integration Kit – High-speed image creation and hardware, BIOS, and security through the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.

The HP ProDesk PC Family offers a myriad of options depending on the user’s specific needs and requirements.

Working either from home or remotely is now the reality and with HP’s wide selection of personal computers, backed by its well-known reputation, selecting any HP-branded PC, would be a wise investment indeed.

Lenovo L22i-30 review: The everyday monitor

The Lenovo L22i-30 monitor is a dependable everyday workhorse for your everyday tasks.

From simple browsing to graphic design and color grading, and even gaming, this monitor will perform exactly the way you will need it to; giving you high-quality graphics and vibrant colors. This makes it worth considering if you’re in the market for affordable and dependable monitors.

Design

Lenovo’s design approach for L22i-30 goes for a modern and clean look.

It boasts a 21.5-inch panel with a 3-sided NearEdgeless design with the bottom bezel housing the monitor’s controller buttons providing easy access.

The stand features a simple yet elegant and boxy design in a metallic gunmetal grey finish. There’s a built-in phone holder slot at the base as well.

Moving to the back, the monitor continues its simple design with large vents for cooling and a single brushed metal Lenovo badge.  It also comes ready with a 100mm x 100mm VESA mounting system option.

Assembly is simple, easy, and quick. You can set the L22i-30 up right out of the box — no tools necessary — and it only takes about 3 minutes. It comes with just 3 parts: the base, stand, and LCD panel. The build and materials used are high quality offering a combination of hard plastics and metals.

There’s also a cable management system found behind the stand. There are grooves where you can tuck your cords to help satisfy the need for neat and organized cables. Input and output ports are found behind the monitor and offer VGA, HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, as well as a Kensington Lock Slot.

Adjustment options are quite limited, though, with it lacking is the height adjustment and screen rotation but it does allow different tilt options which is probably what most people will only need, anyway.

Performance and features

This 21.5 inch, WLED Full HD IPS display gave accurate and natural colors that were useful for certain productivity tasks such as color grading and graphics design.

Thanks to its wide 72% color gamut and sRGB color space support we get decent color reproduction. Additionally, it boasts a contrast ratio of up to 3M:1 in Dynamic Contrast Mode offering deep blacks levels and vibrant colors for a dynamic viewing experience.

Backlight bleeding is also minimal but can still be obvious in dark scenarios. Video streaming and movie watching are also enjoyable thanks to the monitor’s anti-glare matte finish and 178-degree viewing angle alongside decent 1920 x 1080 image quality.

Being a photo retoucher and graphic artist, the Lenovo L22i-30 gave me the flexibility to color grade and post-process thousands of photos with ease in the weeks that I had used it.

One of the main challenges with what I do, for example, is color matching layers in a photo composite to boost realism and that turned out to be a simple task with the help of this monitor.

I appreciate that it has just the right amount of brightness and contrast which I found very useful in adjusting a photo’s exposure in post-production.

The problem I have editing photos on more high-end monitors is that colors, brightness, and contrast are often exaggerated and I end up with half-baked photos when viewed from other screens or displays.

And of course, its TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification kept my eyes stress-free even after hours and hours of work. The L22i-30 gave me more confidence in the quality of work that I would give to my clients.

And even though it’s not a purpose-built gaming monitor, the Lenovo L22i-30 is equipped with AMD Freestyle that delivers smooth and stutter-free motion and screen tearing avoidance for a more enjoyable, casual gaming experience.

Maxing out at 75Hz, motion is adequately smooth for most games. However, this monitor may not be the ideal choice for hardcore gamers who demand higher refresh rates and HDR.

Nonetheless, our experience with it in playing graphics-heavy FPV games did not disappoint and it stood up to every task we threw at it with ease with little to no lags at all.

Final Thoughts

For a monitor under PhP 8,000, the Lenovo L22i-30 offers a good number of useful features and is well-designed as well. First is the adjustable angle from its stand; not all monitors have this type of tilt feature. This is handy when it comes to adjusting the viewing angle based on the height of your desk.

For clean freaks who love cable management, you’ll love that the monitor has a conveniently placed wire passage behind the stand to help you manage your cords, cables, and wires to keep your workspace neat and tidy.

Like most monitors these days, this model also features a thin bezel that maximizes the space, offering more screen real estate for this 21.5-inch monitor.

Performance-wise, the L22i-30 comes with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a refresh rate of 75Hz while offering a fast 4-6ms response time. Combining all of these specs and you get a quality, no-fuss display that you can enjoy when it comes to editing, casual gaming, work, and everyday use.

As I said earlier, the Lenovo L22i-30 is a reliable monitor for your day-to-day needs. It’s simple and straightforward in terms of design while offering colors and contrast are natural that are true to life.

It’s the ideal monitor for the kind of work that I do, too. It may not have HDR or high refresh rates that hardcore graphics enthusiasts might look for but its beauty is in its simplicity. For me, though, color accuracy is what I appreciated the most.

You can head over to Lenovo’s official store on Lazada to check out this monitor and more. Additionally, on Lazada’s Birthday Sale this March 27, Lenovo will also be slashing prices on its other offerings such as the Legion Y27gq 27-inch gaming monitor (PhP 39,095), Lenovo L15 15.6-inch monitor (PhP 10,395), Lenovo G24-20 (PhP 10,395), and the Lenovo Q24I-1L (PhP 7,895).
