Xiaomi’s Mi 10 Lite makes 5G accessible to more people

Xiaomi has further made 5G connectivity accessible to more users with the launch of the Mi 10 Lite 5G. This phone acts as the base offering in addition to the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro that the company has just launched through an online event. Although not carrying the same high-end hardware and features as its more expensive siblings, the Mi 10 Lite 5G is still loaded with capable components.

The handset comes in a 6.57-inch AMOLED TrueColor display while an under-display fingerprint sensor is also present for added layer of security.

It’s powered by a Snapdragon 765G processor with LiquidCool technology and you can opt for either 64GB or 128GB internal storage options. Specs for its RAM are still undisclosed but it should be somewhere around 6GB-8GB. Battery, on the other hand, is officially rated at 4160mAh and comes with a 20W fast charge technology.

Imaging is then handled by a 48-megapixel quad-camera setup with multiple shooting modes. For selfies, the phone has a 16-megapixel front camera which is designed as a waterdrop notch.

Available in white, black, and green, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G is expected to roll out in May at the following price points:

  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G (64GB) – EUR 349 (approx. PhP 19,800/US$ 387)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G (128GB) – EUR 399 (approx. PhP 22,600/US$ 442)

With this pricing, it rivals the likes of ZTE Axon 11 which was also launched just recently.

The newest flagship handsets from OnePlus have finally been officially announced after many rumors and leaks. Called the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, the two basically share some components, but the Pro version offers more capabilities in certain departments.

Let’s take a quick look at the following specs comparison for their similarities and differences.

From the above specs, we see that both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are running on the same Snapdragon 865 CPU with options for either 8GB and 12GB RAM plus a tandem of 128GB and 256GB of storage. They also share the same Android 10-based UI layered with the company’s OxygenOS.

Although, that’s where the main similarities end. The 8 Pro, for starters, carries a slightly larger display with higher resolution and a faster 120Hz refresh rate. It’s also bigger and heftier than the OnePlus 8.

For cameras, the 8 Pro gets a bump in ultrawide resolution and receives an extra telephoto lens and a color filter that aim to reproduce better quality photos. The battery capacity is also understandably bigger and comes with fast wireless charging capabilities.

Now for the pricing, the OnePlus 8 will retail for US$ 699 (approx. PhP 35K) for its 8GB/128GB model and US$ 799 (approx. PhP 40.4K) for the 12GB/256GB offering. Meanwhile, the bigger 8 Pro will be priced at US$ 899 (approx. PhP46K) and US$ 999 (approx. PhP 51k) for the 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants, respectively.
